Chapter 13

Meridith had prepared herself to face the King about the spell book he found in her room. She has made up her mind to lie against Daisy once again. She needn't stress herself. She doesn't need to, because the King will believe her as a result of his hatred for Daisy.

However, when she entered his room, Meridith still panicked a bit at the sight of him. His face was expressionless and intimating, like it always has.

"Why does My Lady has a grimoire in her chamber? Does this means that the rumors going on about her are true?" Damon questioned her straightforward.

Meridith composed herself the best she could and made curtsy. "Your words hurts me deeply, My King. To think that you are considering the rumors without hearing from me first."

"And that was why I summoned you, now speak," softly spoken words yet dangerous when delayed.

"Perhaps, my timing was wrong. I should have informed you in the moment I collected the grimoire from Daisy. The spell book was actually belonged to her," M
