#240 "Now, Off You Go."

In the morning, Alexander woke up in nervous anticipation. He couldn't wait to propose to Sophia and hoped she would accept. Sophia was still sleeping, pressed against him in the bed.

Carefully, Alexander slid out of bed, not wanting to disturb Sophia's peaceful sleep. He tiptoed to the desk and wrote a note to Sophia. "Don't forget about my mother's party tonight. I'll meet you there at 7." He placed the note on the bedside table where she would easily find it.

As he was about to leave the room, he heard Sophia's voice.

"You get out of bed like a lover. Fuck and ditch," Sophia grumbled, her voice thick with sleep.

Alexander sensed the accusation in her tone but couldn't help but laugh. “Oh, my love. There's no way you can get rid of me that easily.''

"Oh, you left me a note. For your mother's party. You know what's just missing?"

"What?" Alexander asked, curious.

"An explanation for why you're disappearing again."

"I told you twenty-four hours, but I think it's only been 12."
