Mavin,
I stepped out of my bedroom and dressed in a casual blue top and black pants. I walked over to the mirror to comb my short black hair.
I felt a sore and scratches on my neck from when I was taking a bath. I noticed finger scratch marks on my skin.
Frowning, my mind flashed back to the moment I had been with her.
I couldn't bring myself to stop. I held my head to ease the pain from the memory.
Even though the medicine had helped, I still had a headache. I thought about giving Adam and the rest of the staff a serious warning.
Adam Howard, a 53-year-old man who had been with me for a long time, liked to call me boss.
He said he called me boss "to motivate me and remind me of who I am and my rank in City B."
I sighed as I finally walked away from the mirror. After applying my perfume, I left my room and went downstairs to accompany my grandfather to the hospital, as promised.
Grandpa was smiling like he had won a trophy, neatly dressed in a brown garment. As I took my seat in the dining room across from him, I told him, "Grandpa, I'm not happy with what you did last night."
"What did I do wrong?" Grandpa's smile remained bright, and I knew he knew exactly what he did.
"Are you not the one who arranged and sent that lady to me? Why?" I was angry, having read his will that stated if I didn't get married before the year ends, he would give away his company and hotel while he was still alive.
We have just two months left to the year end. The day, October 18th.
"Don't ask me why, Mavin. It's not like you don't sleep with women. Do you not like the woman that Adam brought to you yesterday? We can search for her and bring her back," Grandpa said, waiting for Angela to step out of the kitchen with his herbal tea.
"No. I don't need her, and don't try to do that to me again," I warned him sternly. Grandpa hummed in response.
Angela, the head maid in our home, served in our luxurious mansion that belonged to me.
I built it five years ago when I turned 30. We moved from the old family house, which had been our ancestral home and also Grandpa's house.
"Good morning, boss. What would you like me to serve you?" Angela politely asked me after she had served Grandpa his tea, while I looked at her middle-aged yellow face.
Most of the staff working in my mansion were older, except for the younger maids who were recently employed, whom I was not familiar with due to the large size of the mansion.
"Just tea and bread, and make it quick, as we're already running late," I replied.
Glancing at the dining room wall clock, I saw that it was already 9 am.
I sighed, knowing that Grandpa's treatment with his doctor was scheduled for around 10 am. I waited for Angela to serve my breakfast.
After finishing my tea with Grandpa at the dining table, I got up, escorted Grandpa to my car, and drove him to town.
We arrived at the magnificent Saint Peter Hospital in City B, and I helped Grandpa inside.
My mind kept wandering to the blonde beauty. Whenever I saw a lady with blonde hair, my mind would freeze, mistaking her for the blonde lady.
"Oh no," I grimaced. Grandpa noticed and asked, "What's wrong, son? Are you still thinking about her?"
"No, Grandpa," I replied as I led him to the OPD waiting room.
Taking out my phone, I called my office assistant, Henry Black.
"Hello, boss," Henry greeted me.
"Please let Mrs. Tonia Briggs know that I won't be arriving at the office on time," I informed him. Henry, my office assistant, helped me manage the company activities in my absence.
"Understood, boss," Henry replied before I ended the call. I sat waiting for the queue to decrease before it was Grandpa's turn.
As soon as it was, we went into the doctor's office. Despite being 85 years old, Grandpa could still walk without a walking stick and remained mischievous.
"Good morning, Mr. White," Doctor Amari Hanks greeted us with a smile, Grandpa's favorite doctor.
Grandpa preferred female doctors. She asked Grandpa how he was feeling that day.
"Good," Grandpa answered shortly, while I sat silently, my mind still preoccupied with thoughts of the lady from the previous night.
Feeling guilty after Adam had mentioned not paying her, I couldn't shake off the memory of the things I had done to her.
The effect of the drug that was given to me was unexpected, and I felt the urge to find the lady, settle things, and pay her to rid myself of the guilt.
"Are you feeling alright today, Mr. Mavin?" Doctor Amari addressed me by my first name. I met her big brown eyes, saying, "Yes. Please attend to my grandpa first as I'm not a patient."
"You're sweating despite the air conditioning, and it's advisable to have a checkup occasionally before your health deteriorates further," Doctor Amari suggested politely.
"I'll consider that another time, not today. I have a business meeting at 12 pm," I replied despite still feeling discomfort.
"Just a friendly suggestion, Mr. Mavin. I can quickly check on you if you'd like," Doctor Amari offered with a smile, despite being a married woman, her flirtatious manner irritated me.
Even if she was married, her flirtatious demeanor never wavered. Her big brown eyes sparkled like a happy puppy.
I understood why she had a lot of patients, as even those not sick would visit her hospital just to have her touch them.
It seemed Grandpa appreciated visiting her hospital since it had been in her family for generations. However, I didn't like Doctor Amari and only tolerated her because of Grandpa.
"Grandpa, you seem very happy today. What's the good news?" Doctor Amari asked him with a smile after checking his vital signs. Grandpa replied, "I'm happy to see you today."
Doctor Amari blushed, and her eyes sparkled again. I remembered the big blue eyes I had seen earlier. She said, "That's great. I've written down your medications, and you can get them from the nurses before you leave. Thank you for coming today, Grandpa," before we left her office.
"Thank you," Grandpa replied. I didn't say anything as I walked out of her office with Grandpa. We stopped at the hospital pharmacy and collected Grandpa's medication before going home in my car.
Mavin After I had escorted my grandpa home, I took him to his room downstairs. I ensured that my grandpa drank his medicine before I left him in the care of Angela and went back upstairs to my bedroom. I went into my closet and changed my casual clothes into a blue suit and set off to leave for the company. I was having a business meeting at noon with my shareholders and partners. I had already contacted Henry Black to reschedule the business meeting for the afternoon and to let my secretary know that I wouldn't be arriving at the company on time. The day was Saturday, October 18, and I took my time to dress up properly in my room. The business meeting included meetings with other foreign partners that I work with. Even though Grandpa Charlie had disconnected his company association from mine, I was still obligated to give him a great-grandchild or impregnate someone before the year ended. I knew I still had to work very hard to take over Grandpa's company too. Considering it was
Thelma It was a brand new day. I sat up carefully on my bed and finally slid out of it. I walked up towards my room window and pushed the curtains slightly open to stare out at my father's garage. I saw my elder brother Steven Sabastain standing there and speaking to a bodyguard. Like Steven, felt my intense gaze on him. He turned and stared upward at my room window, but I quickly shut the curtains closed. I wasn't ready to greet him. I still felt embarrassed from the previous day when I looked so red in front of them, plastered with love kissing marks all over my skin and face. I had to do my business training as I had graduated. But I didn't know if my father would allow me to go outside of our mansion again, to work with the company that I had chosen. I submitted my application to M.W Corporation. My mother didn't want me to learn under Steven. The company had already sent me an approval email to resume with them on Monday. Since it was Sunday, I decided to inform my parents
Thelma. I finished eating my breakfast in my bedroom and stood up from the chair. Walking to the mirror, I stared at my beautiful yellow reflection once again. I have a sharp, pointed nose, and my blue eyes were sharp and enchanting. I smiled as I walked away from the mirror and stripped off my clothes to take my bath in the bathroom. Stepping into the bathtub, I bathed quickly as I still wanted to meet with my father, knowing I had been avoiding him since the previous day. I sighed, acknowledging my mother was partially right about me being a bit naive. I shouldn't have paid heed to Sandra and Ella's words, as they were closer to each other than to me. They sometimes behaved jealously because my parents were wealthier than theirs, and my father's company had won many prestigious awards and recognition in City B. My mom actually wanted me to take over my dad's company instead of my elder brother, Steven Sabastain. Mom only acknowledged Steven as her adopted son, even though she op
Thelma. I picked up an orange scarf from my closet and wrapped it around my neck before walking out of my room. I went downstairs to the living room to find my parents. It was Sunday, and the time was still after 10 am. As I descended the stairs into our living room, I heard my father's voice speaking to my mother. I met their gazes as they stopped discussing upon hearing my footsteps. I stood frozen, feeling tense, like a sacrificial lamb waiting to be slaughtered. "Good morning, Dad, Mom," I nervously greeted my parents. I could feel the tension in the living room as my dad stared at me. He responded, "Good morning, Thelma. Aren't you going to church today?" "No, Dad," I breathed out in relief. I had feared my dad would reprimand me because of what had happened the day before, which was Friday. But to my surprise, Dad was smiling at me, sparking my curiosity. Instead of scolding me for the incident that occurred on Friday, he seemed pleased. I said, "I have already prayed to God
Steven I stared at father's face as he remained seated on the black living room couch, deeply pained to see my younger sister, the only one I have, crying and storming away angrily after emerging from her room at last. She had been hiding in her room all day, trying to conceal the kiss marks clearly visible on her neck and cheeks. I couldn't help but wonder how she managed to celebrate her birthday at the LX Hotel - and our father had even granted her permission. It was the first time in Thelma's life that she had been allowed to go out with her friends to celebrate her birthday outside our home. Thelma has never sought the publicity that comes with being related to me. Not many people knew she was my father's daughter; there were only speculations about my parents having another child, a girl. Not many people bothered to search online for Thelma's identity, as my dad never posted anything about her either. "Dad, it might not be a bad idea for Thelma to intern at MW Groups. The co
Steven: "Hmm.. Why are you still here, Steven?" Father asked me as he finally looked back at my face. I replied, "Dad.. we haven't finished talking about Thelma starting her internship tomorrow at MW Group. Please, Dad.. Let's just give her a chance and support her for once," I said. "Support Thelma, you say, Steven. Did you see the kissing marks all over your sister's neck and face? Did you bother to ask her who she went out and slept with?" I sighed and replied, "No, Dad." "Didn't we support Thelma? We supported her to go out and celebrate her birthday for the first time in a hotel. Even when she refused to tell us the name of the hotel, only telling your mother. Her friends made the arrangements and she couldn't say no to them, as they paid for the birthday celebration and organized everything. We thought it wasn't a bad idea and allowed your sister to go there. Now look at the mess she came back looking like... She went to LX Hotel to celebrate her birthday too." Father shook
Thelma: "What did he say?" Steven asked me again, and I shook my head, considering telling him the truth: the man I had slept with had been drugged to sleep with me. He was very angry to find me in his bed the next morning. "Thelma," Steven called to my attention again. I said, "I mean, I don't know his name, brother. Can you tell Dad that I need some time to get over the man I had a one-night stand with before the marriage?" "No, Thelma. That's only if you know the man's name. Maybe Dad would consider letting you marry the man instead of Felix. Do you remember his name now or what his Butler called him?" Steven asked me. I shook my head and replied, "No. I only remember the Butler's name, Adam." "Adam what?" Steven asked, looking seriously at my face, but I didn't know. "Hmm, it's okay, sister. I've already convinced Dad to let you do your internship at MW Group. Do you know why the group is called MW?" Steven asked. I shook my head and replied, "No." "It means Mavin White Corpo
Thelma, I woke up late at night in my bedroom, with the sound of knocking on my room door waking me from sleep. I stood up from my bed and walked to my room door to find out who was there, as sleep was far from my eyes. Approaching my room door, I pulled it open and saw my mother standing there. She frowned at me as I made way for her to walk into my bedroom. "Good evening, mom," I greeted Mother as I finally shut my room door and turned to face her. She asked me, "Thelma, didn't I tell you to remind me today that we would be going to the hospital? I totally forgot about it due to disagreeing with your father about you being betrothed to Felix. You didn't even come to remind me, why Thelma?" I frowned and replied, "Mom, I told you that I'm fine. I cannot remember anything wrong with me or the man." "I know, Thelma. I'm not disputing that with you, but for safety measures, I think it's best for you to go to Doctor Amari's office tomorrow evening after you finish work. Meet with Do
