Amelie's POV.
I nodded my head. "There's nothing wrong with you guys, after all it is what I want."
"What do you mean?" asked Lennon, his brow furrowed.
My lips smiled at such a question from him. "Yeah, I really wanted Alpha Rexton to reject me as his mate. Alpha Rexton and Matilda's relationship had been going on for quite a long time at that time and I didn't want to destroy it. That's why I let Alpha Rexton marry Matilda, especially since Matilda is my adopted older sister. "
"I think you are very kind, Amelie." Lennon looked at me intently. "You are capable of giving up your happiness for someone else's happiness."
"I wouldn't necessarily be happy with Alpha Rexton if I were his luna." I still smiled gently. "In fact, it is very likely that my life will be filled with guilt because I separated a pair of lovers who dreamed of living together and completing each other."
"What you said is true." Lennon nodded his head for a moment. "But is your life happy after Rexton chose Matilda over you?"
"I kept trying to be happy and finally real happiness came. I was very happy with Griffin's birth, that's why I was willing to come back here and talk to Alpha Rexton about the sorcerer's kidnapping of Griffin. As a mother, I don't want to lose him."
"I understand your feelings, Amelie."
Suddenly Annette's voice was heard, even though I hadn't realized she was here. A few moments later Annette returned to the meeting room. Her steps walked straight and firmly towards her seat and she began to sit her body in the same place as before.
Annette looked thinner than five years ago. There were no visible wrinkles on her face, only I could see two prominent cheekbones. I think five years is a fast time, especially after Griffin came into my life because I always live my days feeling happy. Five years can make a person have many changes. Maybe for them there is also a change in me, it's just that I don't realize it and what I know is that my appearance is still the same without the slightest difference.
Not only Annette, Lennon's physical appearance has also changed a lot. There are many wrinkles on the surface of his body and face even though he still looks handsome. Silently I imagined how when Alpha Rexton was old, would he also look like Lennon? Even though he is old, he is still dashing with an aura of courage radiating from within him.
"As a mother, you definitely don't want to see your child hurt in the slightest, let alone kidnapped. I'm sure Rexton will definitely help you."
I nodded my head. "Thank you for understanding me, Annette."
"I appreciate how you are when you are away from anyone. You cared for and raised Griffin alone, it's not an easy thing but you can do it all this time."
"Unfortunately I failed now." I lowered my head deeper. "Griffin is currently being kidnapped."
"Don't worry, the Yellow Moon Pack's strength is definitely greater than Gloria's."
"Gloria?" My forehead frowned. This was the first time I heard this name and I didn't recognize it at all.
"Yeah." Annette nodded her head gently. "She is the sorcerer who kidnapped my grandson."
"Oh." For a moment I nodded my head, understanding who Annette was talking about. "Actually, I felt hesitant and uncomfortable about coming here and asking Alpha Rexton for help. I was afraid this would become a problem in the castle between Matilda and Alpha Rexton."
"It just so happens that she's here right now." Annette flashed a smile. "You don't need to worry, Amelie. After all, your purpose in coming here was not for yourself but to save your son from the kidnapping that Gloria was carrying out."
I nodded my head confirming her words. "Do you think Alpha Rexton will really help me? What if he doesn't want to?"
"Rexton will definitely help you. He has a soft heart even though he is a wolfman and he is also an Alpha."
"Actually, why was Gloria expelled from membership in the Yellow Moon Pack?" I dared to ask because I was curious.
"I don't know for sure, that's Rexton's authority." Lennon sighed, he finally spoke after previously only listening to my conversation with Annette. "It's possible she may have made a pretty serious mistake."
"Maybe, but she should have attacked the castle with her supernatural powers, not kidnapped an innocent boy." I vented my frustration in front of Annette and Lennon.
"I will try to free him."
Hearing the sound, everyone in the meeting room turned towards the source of the sound. I found Rexton there. He looked calmer than before.
I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard Alpha Rexton say that. Finally what I did got results. In my heart I felt very happy because Alpha Rexton was willing to help me get Griffin back.
"Rexton," said Annette, getting up from her seat. "I knew you would do this."
"He's my boy, Mum." Rexton smiled faintly, then hugged Annette's body for a moment.
"Yeah, he's my grandson too." Annette returned Alpha Rexton's hug and smiled.
"I will order some wolves to find out her whereabouts, then attack her secretly. Regarding putting her back into the Yellow Moon Pack, I don't feel like doing that because of the mistakes she has made."
"What has she done, Rexton?" Lennon asked.
"I can't tell you now." I found Lennon who slightly turned to me and my three friends. "I hope you understand."
Lennon nodded his head, he didn't discuss it any more. "Then what are your plans?"
"As I said earlier, I will order several wolves to find out her whereabouts and start an attack to free Griffin." Rexton looked back at me and my three friends. "For the time being you stay at the hotel, I have prepared two rooms for you guys."
I nodded my head. "Thank you, Alpha Rexton." I feel very happy and relieved to know this.
"Soon I will attend a meeting, you should go home and I will call you if there are any developments."
I rounded on him who turned around and was about to leave the meeting room again. Not long after, the sound of the smartphone ringing was loud and filled the entire meeting room.
Realizing that the ringing sound was coming from my smartphone, I hurriedly picked it up with a little annoyance. My eyes looked at the lighted screen, I saw a strange number there. I know who the owner of that number is, none other than the sorcerer who kidnapped Griffin.
Without delay, I immediately picked it up. "She ... she called." I said quickly, then turned on the loud speaker feature so that everyone here could hear it, not just me.
"How is it, Amelie? Have you succeeded in doing it?" The sorcerer known as Gloria contacted me again.
For a moment I looked at Alpha Rexton. "I'm still trying to negotiate." I answered.
"Oh, my gosh, don't you feel sorry for Griffin? He doesn't eat at all here, I don't want to give him food. Apparently your boy is quite spoiled too, he can't sleep if he's not on a soft and comfortable mattress. , but I'm reluctant to give him a bed." Gloria sighed. "What does he think? I'm kidnapping him, not taking him on holiday."
"Everything she said was a lie, Mom."
"Griffin." I called immediately after hearing Griffin's voice which I really missed. Hearing his voice, which sounded fine, I felt a little calm even though I still felt anxious and worried because Griffin was currently with the kidnapper. "Griffin, are you okay? I'
ll help you right away. Tell me where you are now, Griffin? Tell me! Griffin ...? Griffin?!"
Amelie's POV. Escorted by Beta Luke, we all went to the hotel in question. There are two rooms prepared by Alpha Rexton and each room has twin beds. I went into the room with Hailey while Andrew was with Ben. Maybe I will need Hailey with me longer, that's why I don't want her to be with Ben even though that could happen. Entering the room, I immediately sat on the side of the bed. My eyes looked towards the window which showed a view of the city. It's been five years since I left this city and went to a bigger city not too close. I did everything to be able to forget Alpha Rexton and Matilda easily even though in reality there I met Delvia and Hailey who were the same people I met before going to the big city. I sighed. My thoughts are still on Griffin. From the voice I heard earlier he didn't seem to be in a bad condition. He was even able to speak while the sorcerer was conversing with me. Griffin was very brave to do that, but I felt scared. I hope that the sorcerer doesn't ge
Griffin's POV. "Aren't you hungry, Griffin?" Hailey asked while eating snacks. I shook my head. "No, but I feel like drinking milk. Can you make it for me? I can't make it myself because mommy put powdered milk on the top shelf." "Oh, why is that?" "In the past, I often ate powdered milk in secret while it was still on the table, so the milk ran out quickly and my mother scolded me. She said I shouldn't eat powdered milk directly, powdered milk should be brewed with boiling water and drunk." I explained long. With that explanation, Hailey actually chuckled. "Okay, okay, I'll make milk for you, Griffin." She said, then got up from the sofa. I didn't say a word in response to her sentence, I just nodded my head. My throat feels thirsty, that's why I'm uncomfortable talking. Even though I usually always make noise when I'm playing, now I'm always silent. I wanted to drink something sweet and that was milk, it felt like drinking milk this morning wasn't enough for me. Mom is worki
Griffin's POV. Gloria got up from her seat and came closer to me. I tried to dodge, but I was cornered and couldn't go anywhere. This left me with no choice but to just rebel through kicks or punches even though I knew it wouldn't have a big effect. Suddenly I felt something penetrate my skin. My body suddenly went limp and my eyes darkened. Like the curtains being slowly closed at night in a room without lights, I couldn't see anything but darkness. I was conscious for a few moments before finally I didn't remember anything anymore. *** My head felt dizzy and I started to open my eyes slowly. One thing I saw when I first opened my eyes was a hanging lamp with an orange light that wasn't burning very brightly. Feeling very unfamiliar with this place, I tried to move and at this moment I found my feet tied with chains. I couldn't go anywhere, the chains gripped my legs very tightly. "Wh--where am I?" I asked quietly, monologuing with myself. "It's like I'm in the basement." My e
Griffin's POV. I took the thin cloth that Gloria said was a blanket, folded it several times and I lay face down on the basement ground. I tried my hand to reach the water droplets so that the cloth in my hand could catch the water droplets. My lips smiled when I saw what I was doing was working. Maybe by waiting a few moments I will get water to wet my throat which is already very dry. "Please speed up the dripping. I'm very thirsty, I want to drink." I said softly while continuing to pay attention to the cloth which was almost completely wet. The cloth was on top of my hand so that it was not directly exposed to the basement soil, only the top of the basement. However, I feel this water is clean enough and I can use it for drinking. Waiting for a few more moments, the cloth in my hand was already wet. Pulling my hand back, the cloth was already very wet and there were even droplets coming from it. I smiled and without waiting long immediately directed the cloth to my mouth. So
Rexton's POV. I saw the car in which Amelie and her friends were traveling away from the castle through the window in the work room. The car just passed by until it finally passed the gate and was no longer visible in my sight. I let out a rough breath, Amelie's presence back in my life seemed to be at the right time. At least that's what I'm partnering with now. After I could no longer see the car, I sat down on my work chair. My hands started to open the laptop and re-check the documents that seemed to be needed during the meeting later. A few moments passed and I felt that everything was complete and perfect, nothing was left behind and nothing was missing in the slightest. I really appreciate Beta Luke's performance, which is always satisfying. When I was about to go to get ready, I actually heard the sound of my smartphone beeping, indicating that I had received a short message. Not as usual, this time I was curious about what notifications came into my smartphone. I sat back
Rexton's POV. "Y--you got it too?!" Beta Luke nodded his head so easily. "Y--yes, Alpha Rexton." He reached into his pocket. "Look at this." I complied and received the smartphone from Beta Luke. Previously, my eyes had looked at him for a few moments before I finally looked at the smartphone. On the smartphone I found the same photo as the one I got, even the foreign number who sent it was the same. My forehead furrowed, I was curious about who was actually behind this strange number. How come the foreign phone number knows my cell phone number, Beta Luke and even Mr. Anderson? Is it possible that they didn't just send the photos to me and people related to me too? What if the photo gets spread? What if this photo gets spread? There are many questions present in my mind and they are very disturbing. "Find out about it." I said as I returned the smartphone to Beta Luke who was the owner. "We're going back to the castle now." "Okay, Alpha Rexton." The car drove slowly away from
Rexton's POV. I really didn't expect that Matilda and Levin were mates. Realizing this, it was as if Matilda was pushing me backwards and further away from her. Matilda was still standing in the same place. She looked at me intently. What she said just now was not wrong. I still often think about Amelie and even regret rejecting her. Can Matilda see my attitude clearly? I never realized it. "Yeah, Levin and I are mates." Matilda said after a moment, reassuring me. "S--since when did you know?" "Since the first time I met him after not seeing each other for several years." Matilda answered without hesitation. "I met him at the bus stop when I was going to work." "Why ... why didn't you tell me, Matilda?" Matilda sighed. "Didn't you also tell me that you were mates with Amelie?" Instead of answering, she just threw the question back at me. I was silent at Matilda's question. We were both wrong. If only Matilda had said that she was mate with Levin from the start, maybe I would
Griffin's POV. I don't know how long I've been in this basement. About an hour ago Gloria delivered food which only consisted of one biscuit and a glass of water. I still felt hungry if I only ate that, but Gloria didn't give me any more, she actually threatened me by not giving me any more to eat if I asked for more. This left me with no other choice but to nod and endure my hunger. Besides, this was also my fault for not obeying what she said. My eyes looked forward, to the basement walls which were not neat and were still in the form of dirt. It looks like this basement has never been repaired and continues to be like this or this is a newly built basement, I don't know. Tired of sitting, I lay down. I could only curl up and cry, missing my mother who never came to save me. The sound of the door lock opening again was heard, I saw Gloria descending the stairs while covering her nose. The basement is really dirty and smelly, it's because of my poop. My chained feet meant I could
