Rexton's POV.
Getting out of the black car I was driving, I first opened the car door for Matilda. She looks elegant in a white dress that fits her body perfectly.
Matilda put her arm around my left arm, we both walked into a magnificent building. This hall has been decorated very beautifully, lots of balloons, ribbons and other wall decorations, all of which are black and white, just like the dress code that the guests have to wear tonight.
"Good afternoon, Alpha Rexton." Someone approached me, I didn't know who is him.
The man in a black suit and tie directed Matilda and me to a table at the very front on the far right. There were only two chairs there and it seemed like the table had been prepared for the two of us.
"Thank you, Sir." Matilda said kindly.
Not long after we both sat down, I saw three people approaching. They consist of one man and two women, I know the man, he is Mr. Jeremy, the father of his daughter's birthday today.
The three of them smiled at me and Matilda, as they got closer I stood up to welcome their arrival.
"It's an honor that you can take the time to come to this event, Alpha Rexton."
We shake hands with each other.
"Nice to meet you too, Mr. Jeremy."
He chuckled. "Where's Beta Luke?"
"Oh, maybe he's still on the road."
"I hope he can attend, I want to introduce him to my daughter."
Glancing next to him, I saw a girl who was not so strange. I think I've seen it before, but I can't remember where.
"Is it her birthday today?" I asked even though I was doubtful.
"Yeah, sure. I only have one child and it's a girl. She's Gwen, Gwendolyn."
"Hello." She said hello.
I could feel that she recognized me too. But I still can't remember where I met Gwendolyn.
"The event will start soon, we have to get ready."
The three of them left our table, one man climbed onto the small stage at the front and started talking. He is Timothy who is serving as host tonight.
"This is very luxurious, Babe. I have never celebrated my birthday with such a luxurious event." Matilda looked at me expectantly, but it didn't last long, only a few seconds. "How happy she is." She said again while looking at Gwendolyn who was already standing on the stage to welcome her guests.
The birthday event went on as usual. Timothy guided all the invited guests to sing, then the cake cutting ceremony began.
"I want to give the next piece of cake to my friends who are very good and always accompany me at any time. Amelie, Hailey, Chasne, please come up to the stage."
Instantly my forehead frowned when I heard that name. "Amelie, is she here too?" I said to myself.
Immediately I can smell the strong aroma of vanilla with wood. Now I just remembered that Gwendolyn was one of the four women I saw at the bar that night.
When I looked back, I saw three girl walking towards the stage. I saw Amelie among the three of them. She even passed me and Matilda, but it seemed like she already knew that I was here because her gaze kept looking down as if she didn't want to see who was in front of here.
Her movements were so stiff, she looked very awkward. Even Gwendolyn had to whisper to her first before putting a piece of cake into her mouth.
"Ha, isn't that Amelie?"
"Yes, that's your adopted sister, right?" I pretended not to really recognize her.
"Hu-um, if I had known she was also invited, maybe I would have just asked her to go with me. Yes, right?"
"But it seems better not to." I said quietly.
"What?"
Luckily my words coincided with thunderous applause because Amelie and the two other women had already left the stage so Matilda didn't hear them. I turned around and saw a curious look on her face.
"Yes, of course, that would be more fun, right?" I smile.
The cake cutting event was finished and the event guide invited all the invited guests to chat with each other. I turned slightly to where Amelie was, she seemed to be talking to her three friends.
The music sounds melodious to accompany people who are chatting with each other. Meanwhile, I just drank strawberry juice with Matilda while returning greetings from people passing by.
"I want to go to the toilet for a moment." I said as I got up.
Matilda just nodded her head, then returned to focusing on the smartphone in her hand.
This situation really made it possible for me to approach Amelie. Matilda won't see it, but how to keep Amelie away from her friends?
I walked towards her table, my gaze was focused in another direction, but Amelie and her friends could still be seen in my line of sight. Amelie seemed to stand up in a hurry, then left the table. While I smiled faintly.
"Without being asked, you have entered the nest."
I walked past their table, I heard whispers of who knows what they were talking about. One thing is clear, they are talking about me.
Coming out of the hall, I am now in a fairly long hallway. Twenty meters away I could see Amelie walking at a fast pace.
Not immediately taking a step, I stopped first, but my eyes were still looking at her.
"It looks like she's out."
After waiting for about ten minutes, I peeked outside. My guess was right, Amelie was seen walking through a quiet hallway and this was a very good opportunity for me.
I followed her as best as possible from behind, but she seemed to know that someone was following her. I hid in a room that happened to be open, then followed her again carefully.
My hand gripped her arm tightly, then took her into a dark room where I deliberately didn't turn on the light. We started talking in there, again she said something I didn't want to hear.
"Not now, I'm giving you time. If I can give you advice, it's better for you to just reject me. Matilda has been with you for a long time, you two are almost married. I don't want to destroy your relationship, I don't want to make Matilda hurt and disappointed. So, please, I'll say it one more time, reject me, Alpha Rexton."
My heart hurts, my chest is tight. I should feel happy because I met my mate, but what is happening now is actually confusing.
"If that's what you want, I'm sorry, Amelie." I took a deep breath. "I, Rexton Rylee, reject you, Amelie Chyntia, as my mate."
Rexton's POV. The sound of footsteps could be heard passing through the hallway. In a dark room, Amelie and I stood face to face at a very close distance. I had composed a sentence in my brain, but I could only exhale heavily when I was about to say it. I can't say that, I can't imagine how sad the two wolves are inside each of us. I don't want to hurt her at all. I felt her breath hit my face, maybe vice versa. One thing I hope for, is that someone out there doesn't come into the room that I don't even know what room it is. The sound was getting closer. "Rexton ... where are you?" She looked for me, and it was Matilda's voice. I can recognize it well. "Hhmmpp--" Amelie almost made a sound, but I immediately covered her mouth. "Do you want her to know that we are mates?" Amelie answered by shaking her head, I could see it in the dark even though it was a little faint. "If it's like that, then shut up." The sound of footsteps drifted away. It seems Matilda has already passed
Amelie's POV. Gwendolyn's birthday party was exhausting. Luckily after successfully escaping from Alpha Rexton, he never approached me again. After returning home from the party I immediately fell asleep until the afternoon. I woke up hungry and found Matilda in the dining room who had just woken up from sleep. "It turns out you know Mr. Jeremy?" I frowned, then shook my head. "No." "Didn't you come to her daughter's party last night?" "Oh." I just realized something. "Gwendolyn is my college friend." "Didn't you see I was at the party last night too?" I frowned again, pretending not to understand. "Did you come there too, Matilda?" "Hu-um, I came with Rexton. I sat in the front seat at the very end on the right. You really didn't see me?" "Oh my, I didn't know you were there." "You stupid little sister!" I chuckled at her curse. My hands were busy opening sardines and heating them first before eating. "If I knew you were coming too, maybe I would have asked you to leave
Amelie's POV. "Hey, get up, your leg is blocking the road. This bus passenger is having difficulty walking because of your right leg." I was surprised to hear an old woman's voice as well as clapping her hand on my arm. Both of my eyes opened perfectly immediately. An old woman in a cream-colored knitted cardigan stood in front of me. Her brown eyes stared intently at me. Judging from the expression on her face, she seemed to be waiting for my answer. "Wh--why am I on the bus?" I looked around, making sure I was in a moving vehicle. "Aw, young people nowadays get drunk on the bus." She then continued walking. My eyes looked in the direction the old woman had gone. Her hair had turned white, only a few strands remained black. In her hand was a medium-sized brown hand bag. She walked all the way to the front, then sat in the second seat behind the driver. I looked outside, my eyes suddenly opened wider than usual. This road is too far, I have missed stop number four where I was
Amelie's POV. I took a slice of the pizza on the table, then fed it into my mouth without washing my hands first. Disgusting, that's what, but I don't care how many germs enter my body. The taste of this pizza remains the same, delicious, very delicious. Matilda never makes a mistake when buying food. All the food she bought always tasted delicious. "Friend." She answered simply. I was silent, in my heart I didn't believe her words. Even so, I still nodded my head pretending to believe her words. The smartphone in my sling bag rang, I could hear it even though the sound was soft. Likewise with Matilda, she turned her head slightly towards me, looking out of the corner of her eye. I got up from the chair. "I'm tired, I want to rest." "Clean yourself first, then rest." I just responded with a nod of my head. This not so neat room was still dark, I turned on the light so I could see around. Blankets that haven't been folded anymore, pillows that aren't in their place and bed s
Matilda's POV. Gwendolyn's birthday party last night was so tiring that I fell asleep for a long time. Leaving the room, I still haven't seen Amelie, maybe she's still asleep. I took the little remaining chicken soup. Glancing at Amelie's bedroom door, I didn't intend to finish it. It's just that after that I saw several cans of sardines in the cupboard. "She can eat sardines later." I said, then reheated the cold chicken soup. While I was eating dinner, I heard the sound of the bedroom door opening. My guess was right, the lazy Amelie had woken up from her sleep. She sat next to me, put her smartphone on the table and we chatted for a while before she finally went to heat the sardines. Her smartphone lit up with an incoming message. I can't see who sent the message. "There's a message on your smartphone, Amelie." "Just leave it, I'll be done in a minute." The smartphone screen turned off again and I went back to enjoying the chicken soup that I had left. Amelie sat back dow
Matilda's POV. Entering the room, I collapsed on the bed. It feels more comfortable to spend the night in bed than in nightlife places. Is there anyone like me? I don't know why people can enjoy meeting lots of people, while I'm not comfortable with that. Every person is different. In a dark room, I took out my smartphone and turned it on. Rexton still hasn't contacted me, maybe he's still having fun with some friends. "Does Levin have social media?" I selected the search symbol to search for an account. "You should have one, who nowadays doesn't have a social media account?" For a while I waited for the loading time of the search. A few seconds passed, the results started to appear. There are many Levin names that I found. The number of accounts with that name reaches thousands. This will be very difficult. Actually, this is just my fault. I just used his nickname, not the long name that people like me usually use on social media. "Oh my gosh, I forgot his name," I said soft
Matilda's POV. I nodded, then got up from sitting. Entering the room, I immediately took the smartphone which was being charged. I didn't want to disappoint Rexton by letting him come here without me welcoming him. Therefore, I intend to send him a message. "Good morning, Babe. Mama took me to the market this morning, you come at ten o'clock when I get home. See you later." I took a knee-length green dress from the cupboard, I also took a white smartwatch that I just bought a few weeks ago and white flat shoes. Before leaving the room, I took the time to look in the mirror, style my hair and apply cherry red lip balm to my lips so that I looked fresh. I chose a perfume with a cheerful scent, then sprayed it at several points so that the fragrance could spread and last long. Standing in front of the mirror looking at my appearance which was good enough to go to the market, I nodded my head. I am ready. "Take good care of yourself, Amelie. Lock the door if necessary." "Yes, Mum
Rexton's POV. I'm crazy, now I've betrayed Matilda. I even created a new account to be able to approach Amelie slowly so that she doesn't keep wanting me to reject her as a mate. Apart from her, of course I will also feel very sad and regretful. The wolf in me will suffer greatly because of this and I don't want that to happen. Maybe now, sharing my love with other women will be better. I didn't hurt my mate or girlfriend. The smartphone in my hand is now trying to contact someone. I want to be sure of what my girlfriend is going to do tonight, I don't want to be careless. "Do you have any plans tonight, Honey?" I immediately got this question when the voice call was successfully connected. "Hm, yes." I answered. "I'm going to go meet one of Luke's mutual friends." "I also have an event tonight." I was a little surprised by his statement. "You want to go?" I tried to make sure again. "Yes, some friends asked me to meet." I nodded several times, then asked, "Should I take you
