Melina went about her chores the next morning with a lot on her mind. She waited all night for Thomas to call for her, but he never did. She’s guessing he didn’t return yesterday as Kim presumed, or worse, he’s simply plotting a way to kill her without leaving any evidence. Thinking about it causes her body to shake and a cold shiver to run down her spine. She couldn't sleep all night, terrified of what Thomas would do to her, and she couldn’t concentrate on the task at hand. Melina drags her feet out of the bathroom the next morning. She walks a few feet away from the bed to her little closet. Her bed has white covers and pillows, and a brown quilt. Melina’s mood is gray right now, as is the color of the room’s paint. She puts on the new housekeeping uniform Linda got for her. She told Linda immediately when she got back yesterday to help her get a new one. Melina walks to the mirror to check herself out, and her shoulders drop as she sees her ass. Thomas was enraged beyond words. The meeting had just ended and didn’t go the way he wanted. They were unable to sign the deal with Xiao Zhan. The asshole wanted Melina before signing the contract. THOMASAs the words she just said replay in his head, Thomas fires another bullet close to Melina’s feet. He charges at her and grabs her shoulder. Pulling her up to her knees with his free hand, he stares at her closed eyes with fury burning in his eyes. If it was possible, Thomas’ anger and hatred for Melina reached new heights after she said her final words. He was furious; those three-letter words were what she chose to say as her final words. Her brain freezes, feeling Thomas’ lips against hers. Her back arches as his hands roam her body. Melina couldn’t believe what was happening. She thought she would never be with Thomas again. She closes her eyes, kisses him back, and allows him to devour her mouth. Melina has missed the taste of Thomas’s lips against hers. Thomas pinches her waist, causing her to open her mouth. His tongue enters her mouth, and the taste of him completely blinds her senses. With his hands around her waist, he pulls her into him. Melina tells Mrs. Costanzo everything. She doesn’t withhold any information about why she betrayed Thomas. Melina hopes she believes her as it will be nice to have someone who does. It’s been a minute since she finished explaining herself while sitting on Mrs. Costanzo’s couch in her living room. “I believe you, dear,” Kat says, and Melina’s eyes light up. She couldn’t believe Kat does believe her. Melina never imagined that someone would believe she had no choice but to betray Thomas. Kat has no idea how much it means to Melina that she believes her. Walking out of the kitchen, Melina hears someone giggling and whispering or trying to. She recognizes the voice as Serena’s and can hear her speaking to someone. The other voice sounds male and familiar, but she can’t place it. “Stop it; someone might see us,” Serena says. Melina detects playfulness in her voice. Is Serena flirting with someone? Melina had no idea she was interested in anyone in the house. “I don’t care if they see us. I don’t mind if the whole world knows we are together,” the male voice says. Melina hides to avoid interfering with their sweet moment. The scene before her is so lovely. Leo is looking down at Serena, who is fiddling with her fingers. Leo looks fascinated by Serena, and even though Melina can’t see Serena’s eyes, the blush on her face tells her she likes him too. They look so cute together. “You should go back; Sotto capo might start wondering where you are,” Serena says. She puts her little hand on his chest and tries to push him away from her.

Thomas steps out of the car once they arrive at the office. He walks inside and nods to anyone who greets him. He considers passing by his younger sister’s office before going to his brother’s. Aurora, his younger sister, manages their chain of hotels. Being the Don and heir to their family’s fortune puts a lot of pressure on Stefano, so instead of making Thomas his VP, he gives it to Aurora. Stefano did this so that Thomas could focus on helping him run their mafia. It works perfectly because they own one of the best hotels in the world and are one of the most feared mafias. When Thomas realizes he’s already late for his meeting with Stefano, he decides not to. He knocks on his brother’s office door before entering. “I’ll call you back; Thomas is here,” Stefano says to the person on the phone once Thomas walks in. “Hello, brother,” Stefano greets his brother in Italian. “Hello, why did you ask to see me?” Thomas takes a seat opposite Stefano. “I believe you know why.” Stefano
