She cried. With everything that Maverick said, she can't help but tear up. She admits that somehow, she hopes that this time will come but for it to actually happen, that's beyond the reality she has known since childhood.

She's so used to her love to be unrequited that Maverick making her feel so special is so overwhelming. She never imagined that she would feel such happiness that he's giving her.

She put down the cake on the table and reached for Maverick, she cupped his face and kissed him on the lips as tears continuously fell from her cheeks.

"Thank you," she said between her small kisses. "Thank you for making me this happy, for making me feel special. Thank you, honey."
