52 Save Carolina

**Elizabeth's POV**

I used all my strength to squeeze the venom from Carolina's wounds. It worked. The blood flowing from the wounds began to turn red. But this apparently did not stop the poison from spreading through Carolina's body. Her entire arm turned purple, even though I had torn my skirt into long strips of cloth and tied it tightly around her shoulders.

I didn't know after how long, I heard Caleb's wail.

"No! Carolina!"

He was finally returning. He had to face such terrible news as soon as he came back.

Caleb rushed to me and hugged Carolina tightly. I could see his face was full of tears of despair. He cried out, "Doctor! Doctor! Doctors! Save her! Save her! My Carolina!"

I watched as the doctors grabbed the first aid kit and rescued Carolina, and I sat there like a broken puppet. I thought I heard Caleb say something like "priest", but I couldn't quite make it out. My ears were ringing, and I was dizzy.
