“You’re being sarcastic, right?” Ricky laughed. “You’re under my roof and you will do as I say. Do you understand?”
“You will not force me into doing what I have no intention of doing.” I stared at him with defiance in my eyes.
“You know I have authority over you now you’re here?” Ricky closed the distance between us with slow, measured steps forcing me to back up a little.

Shannon’s POV I groaned as the blinds were opened as rays of sunshine fell over my face forcing me to open my eyes. “You need to wake up, Shannon.” I forced one eye open to see Isabel standing next to the bed, looking at me with disapproval written all over her face. “It’s barely 10:00 AM,” I began, glancing at the clock on the bed stand. “I would’ve preferred to wake up at noon.” Isabel’s eyes widened. “You’re not in the mansion anymore, Shannon. You need to understand that, it’ll be the first step towards helping you become familiar with the situation around here.” “Why would I want to do that?” I let out a yawn, stretching my limbs simultaneously. “You’re going to be the next Luna of this pack you have duties to perform as pertaining to your position,” Isabel stated. Did she rehearse these lines overnight? I couldn’t help but wonder. She spoke in a measured tone, there were no breaks or pauses between words. I propped myself up on the bed and gave her a small smile.

Shannon’s POVI dragged my feet up the staircase with tear-stained eyes, hoping that no one would see me in such a distraught state.
