“Kai Darling!" Aurora Maximilian, the multi-tycoon and Kai's mother called out his name as she entered the house. She had been in New York for a few months for business and decided to pay Kai a visit to Brooklyn before she headed back to Italy.

“Mom?" He responded descending to meet his mom.

“What a surprise, what brings you here?" He asked.

“I came to see you, and that peasant you married. Where is she by the way?" She said referring to Xara

“Probably in her room or somewhere around the house." He added dismissively.

" And you don't seem to care?" Aurora asked.

“No, I don't. She's just a burden and you know I am so against divorce there's no way I am divorcing her." He said. Xara was walking past them to her room when she decided to eavesdrop on their conversation which she wished she didn't.

She wiped the stray tears off her face and decided to go and say hello to her mother-in-law.
