KING LEROY

We halted about a kilometer from the Sanguine border with my four trusted guards and thirty others. Sanguine coven only has a hundred and ten members, including females and children, and it would be easy for us to wipe them all.

"Sire, can we leave the children and females? They're innocent of what their members were doing."

"Raul, if they stay away and do not do anything, okay, I leave them, but when they join the fight, don't leave anyone breathing."

"Yes, Sire." They all answered.

"Okay, let's go." With vampire speed, we burst into their territory and killed everyone that our eyes passed by. Screaming and grunting echoed throughout the night and blood-drenched the ground.

"Sire, please spare us." A woman hugging a female child, maybe two or three years old, begged, kneeling not far away from me, trembling in fear while the child was crying.

"Take them," I ordered one of my men, and I continued moving. I kicked the door, and Donovan, the coven's leader, quickly attacked me, but no one was faster than me. I wrapped my hand around his neck, baring my sharp fang at him.

"Why are you killing us? You're a heartless devil." He screamed, struggling from my tight grip. I slowly sank my sharp nails into his neck, and he screamed in pain. "My men failed to kill you, but there's more coming." He grinned. "And sooner or later, you will still die. You can wipe out my coven, but many still want you dead, not only us." He laughs. My lips quirk into a smile.

"They can try, but they will never succeed like you." I mocked and sank my sharp claws into his chest, pulling her heart out. His limped body fell to the ground, eyes wide open, looking at me, and I kicked his head, removing it from his body.

"Sire!!! Louis came running toward me. "The rumor is true. They're abducting humans. There are almost 100 teenage human locks underground.

"What? So my decision to wipe this coven is right. What are they doing with humans?"

"Turning them, Sire. They're turning them into vampires." I gritted my teeth.

"Where?"

"This way, follow me, Sire." We went to the back of the house, and Louis opened the door at the side of the kitchen, and there were a couple of steps of stairs. I run downstairs, and my eyes widen to see some trembling, struggling for their life, and some are already turned and put in a separate room. Some were crying and huddled in the corner trembling in fear, but there was a girl alone in the corner, covered with thick clothing with her head buried between her legs.

A gasp left my lips when she looked up, and tears brimmed her eyes, but she smiled, and the tears rolled down her face. She looked so young, eighteen or nineteen, and beautiful, but what caught my attention is she was glowing. Different colors were around her, and it spread instantly. Everything has a color. Everything was colorful before; only blood had color, but now, in my eyes..... realization hit me.

"I found her." I gasped.

"Who, Sire?" Louis asked beside me.

"I finally found her."

I stood frozen in the middle of the room. I can't believe I finally found her. My eyes fix on her, afraid that she will vanish soon, that this is all my imagination. It's one of my hallucinations, but no, this is true. She did not disappear. She was still there looking at me.

She was beautiful but very young. She has a green orb curtained by thick curly lashes, a small nose, and thin plum lips. She also has pale and flawless skin for a human. My mate is a human, a human who is very vulnerable to my enemies, but I will protect her with my life, and I'll make sure that no harm will come her way.

"Sire. You came. I know you're coming." She said, wiping her tears. Her voice was so soft and sweet to my ear.

"No!!! I quickly turned around, and my eyes widened. The woman earlier with a kid was speeding toward my mate.

"Amara!!! My mate screamed but...

"No!!!! Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion when I saw a silver arrow flying fast toward my mate, and it was too late before I processed what was happening and did something to stop it. The silver arrow already pierces straight to my mate's chest.

It felt like the whole world fell upon me when a gasp of pain left her lips, and she fell to the ground. I just promised myself that I would not let any harm come her way for a few seconds, but I had already failed myself.

"No!!! A word left my lips when she started to gasp for breath. It was so sudden that even the guards with me were paralyzed for a few seconds before they made a move and quickly ran after whoever shot the arrow.

I was trembling and snarling in anger, looking at my mate now drenched with blood with the woman and a child earlier beside her crying.

I don't know what to do. My mind went blank, and I just stood, fist tightly closed on my side. My sharp nails dug into my palm, and I felt my blood dripping, but I ignored it.

"Sire. He's the one who fired the arrow." I snarled, turning around. And I growled to know that it was one of my men. I scratch his chest using my sharp nails, taking some of the flesh. Five deep and long wounds adorned his chest and stomach, and his blood gushed out. He screamed in agony, but I didn't stop. I do it repeatedly. My mate is dying. The one that I've been searching for for a long time. I just found her, and now she's dying because of him. He's a traitor. I've been living with a traitor for a long time without knowing it.

I wouldn't stop until I drained all his blood and shredded his body into pieces until he was not breathing anymore, and I would burn him into ashes until no remains were left.

"Sire, please stop. He's dead. Your mate needs you." Raul said, not far away from me. That snapped me out of the trance. I look at my mate, and she's not moving anymore. Her beautiful orb is now closed. I rushed to her and pulled her away from the woman earlier.

"You can't die. Now that I have found you. Open your eyes. Please open your eyes." I beg. My whole life, this is the first time I have begged because the King never begs. But she doesn't move or even blink her eyes. "No!!! You can't die. If you die, I kill all of them. I kill everyone. So please open your eyes."

"Sire!

"Stay away, all of you, stay away from me!!! I screamed.

"Sire, you need to listen. We don't have time, or she will surely die." I snarled, baring my fang at the woman who quickly stumbled backward in fear.

"Leave before I kill all of you!!!! I screamed.

"Sire, please. I'm begging you to listen to me. We can still save your mate. Just listen to me. Let all your men leave the place. Just leave those who you trusted. We don't have much time. A few minutes and she will die. Please, Sire, listen to me, just this one. You can kill me after this if you want." The woman begs, crying.

"Please, Sire." I don't know if I believe her, but I can't do anything right now. My mate is not breathing anymore. She's already dead, but if she can bring her back, I'll listen to her for my mate. I balled my fist tightly beside me and looked at the pale face of my mate. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm myself.

"Raul sends all our men back to the castle with the newly turned vampire, and the human sets them free. Don't forget to erase their memories from the day they were kidnapped until now. You, Luther, Lucas, and Louis stay."

"Yes, Sire," Raul answered and carried on my order.

"If you can't bring my mate back after this, I'll pull your heart out and rip you into pieces," I warned the woman, who quickly nodded. She looked around and waited until all my guards left except for my four most trusted guards.

"Arabella is not your mate, Sire." She whispered.

"What? Are you...

"The baby, the baby inside her, is your mate." She hurriedly said when my bloody eyes threw her a murderous stare. My eyes quickly looked at my supposed mate, and I pulled the thick cloth covering her.

"Sire, she's pregnant." Louis gasped.

"But I saw and felt the sign when I first saw her."

"It's because she was carrying your mate inside her. Please can you question me later, Sire? We don't have time."

"Guard every corner. Make sure no other vampires are around. No one should know about my mate." I ordered the four of them, and they quickly scattered around.

"I know you have lots of questions for me, Sire, and I will answer all of them later, but first, we need to take the baby out of her mother's womb."

"How?"

"We need to open her tummy." I took a deep breath.

"If after I open my supposed mate's body and the baby turns out not my mate, instead is the mother, I will rip you into pieces for making me cut my mate," I warned her again.
