CHAPTER THREE

My breath was coming out faster as I ran, I thought I heard footsteps earlier but it was now quiet. I had been running at the top of my breath and I knew I couldn't run any longer but I wouldn't stop.

It was late in the night, and it was cold, very cold. The houses I passed were quiet, most people were already asleep. I didn't know where I was but I noticed the houses seemed to have changed, I knew I wasn't hallucinating.

Inside of me was unstable as my mind kept trying to collect what had happened, but I didn't want to recall the incident, what I had done, what I had let happen, and the power that got unleashed once again.

My hands got cold and my calm breathing began to grow harsh again, as I knelt holding my chest. The image of Jeffrey was stuck in my head, at some point it went blank …. I couldn't believe it, but it wasn't there any longer.

I had fainted the moment I felt the control of the spell letting go and slipping away. The last thing I could remember was their faces.

I stood up again and it was dark, too dark to still be evening. I didn't stop walking across the lawn, I didn't care where I was headed, Just knew I had left the scene of a definite crime.

Here I was, very cold and feeble on a morning in an unknown location, and I had most likely just killed a person. I broke down in fear about what I had done. I had never felt as reprobate as I did at that moment. "I killed a person!"

Jeffrey was a bully and would have raped and killed me but didn't necessarily mean he had to die right?

I cried for a long time with tears running down my mouth. I probably wouldn't be returning to school, I was too dangerous and I didn't want any death on my conscience.

I probably would leave school and give up on my dreams of becoming an Alpha commander… I couldn't believe it.

I stayed in an isolated place for a long time, till my tears and thoughts calmed and I was able to let myself just be who I am. I was shivering and I was so very cold.

I hugged my bag trying to find warmth within myself, I leaned on a trash can as I fell asleep.

"Hey… you" a hand was tapping on my shoulder.

I slowly opened my eyes as daylight stroked my eyes. The first thing I saw was my school bag lying on the floor as I had let go of it while sleeping. It was looking dirty and dusty, I pulled it towards myself and dusted it, paying no attention to the hand that tapped me.

"Hey!" Said the voice again. It was masculine.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

The blurriness in my eyes finally faded and my eyes collided with green eyes, green like flourishing leaves on a tree.

I could have sworn I was inside a plantation for a second. His eyes gave way to the most masculine cut-out jaws I have ever seen. Masculine lips and dark hair on his head, wearing a tracksuit as I could see his bulgy biceps, with his running shoes.

I finally looked up at him, making sure to fully admire and appreciate the physique he had. And he was staring intently at me.

"I am…okay," I said, forcing words out of my mouth. I immediately took a deep breath hoping the intake of air would make me sound better and not like I was having a hot yam in my mouth.

"Are you sure? You don't look okay, you are pale he said. He had a concerned look on his face

I struggled to stand on my feet but my knees couldn't carry me, I felt his hands under my arms trying to steady me up.

"Thank you I said" as I finally could stand on my own.

" Would you like to come inside?" He said taking a step closer to me, he pointed at the door willing to take me inside.

"I should probably get going," I said as I shuffled away from the trash can.

Are you sure? He asked. I needed to leave as soon as possible, my face was warm from embarrassment.

"Thank you," I said as I ran past him. I was close to the open gate entrance before I took a moment and looked behind me. I almost missed my steps with the vision I saw.

It was a mansion. I had walked into someone's property and slept at the side of their house. No wonder that guy thought I needed help.

I was not just In a better neighborhood than mine, I was in the best neighborhood in town. It was the neighborhood that housed the wealthy and classiest of all wolf breeds, cousins, and relatives of the royal family rumored to live here.

Only the richest were allowed to walk through its gate. How had I walked in and no one had noticed? Well, it didn't matter how I got here, it mattered only that I got to school as early as I could, whereas I was already late.

I looked left and right, trying to figure out which way I had come through. Immediately I looked back Into the house. I should have asked the guy which way my school was.

Anyways, I pulled my bag to my back, I would find my way any way I could.

The sun was up and slowly rising, and I smelled even worse than I did. I felt calm though I always have spare clothes in my locker room at the gym.

I just had to sneak in, freshen up and attend my afternoon class.

It was a while but I could see my school from where I was. The hunger and tiredness I had drastically drained away.

I looked toward the school and my body immediately turned down in shock. I saw personnel as well as students, teachers, and passersby standing as if they would turn and point fingers at me. I couldn't believe I had forgotten what happened last night.

It was beside the log of wood Jeffrey and his friends dragged me from. There were Alpha police everywhere and barricades preventing people from trespassing.

I could hardly see anything from where I stood. From a distance, I saw some of our headteachers speaking with the Alpha police.

" I heard that some students were killed, that is the only reason the Alpha police can come here," said a voice to my left. A group of male students was gisting.

"Students die here like every day. I don't understand why it's such a big deal this time around" a guy replied.

"I heard three students were killed, whispers another boy"

All the breath inside of me went out. Three?

I thought It was only Jeffrey that my power had gotten. I thought his friends had managed to run away. I was way more dangerous than I thought.

I stood under the shower at the gym as I enjoyed the water pouring on me while I scrub my body.
