Chapter 16

Melissa opened her eyes when it was 2:30am. She lazily got out of bed and went straight to the bathroom to clean up. She wasn't sure about the weather in Italy but she ended up wearing something thick and comfy regardless. She put some last-minute items in her luggage box after which she rolled the box and her handbag out of the room.

Seeing that there were still a few minutes before Damien arrived, Melissa decided to spend some time with Ryan. She gently made her way into his room, placed a deep kiss on his forehead then sat beside him.

"Mommy," The little boy whispered in a sleepy voice with his eyes closed.

"Yes, my love." Melissa embraced him as he cuddled closer to her, kissing him on the cheek.

"I just saw you." He voiced out, still not opening his eyes.

"You had a dream?”

He nodded against his mother's chest. "You look so happy"
