The cracking sounds of bone joints echoed, as the young wolf turned back to his human form, his exceptional glowing eyes, turning back to the original black color, which was a sign of strength, in the werewolf kind.
Only the most powerful kind of wolves were able to change their eye color on transformation and Alpha Fenrys was proud that his son had inherited that from him.
The Nova pack was the second largest pack in the werewolf community and being its head Alpha, was not in the least bit easy.
Jayden Fenrys had to prove himself time an again, to earn the leadership of the pack from his father and it made him the experienced and competent man, that he was today.
He wished the same for his son, who had already made him proud in everything he did.
Adrian was such a good son; it was almost impossible to tell that he grew up without a mother.
The Luna of pack Nova had parted from her family the same day Adrian had arrived into the world, the pack Alpha still remembered the last conversation he had with her.
“I’m very weak Jayden, if I don’t survive, don’t let my pup feel lonely okay.” Aurora Fenrys spoke slowly, her sickly pale hands clasped by her weeping Alpha.
“Don’t speak like that Luna, I won’t be able to do anything without you, don’t leave, my Aurora, I beg you.” Jayden was kneeling beside the bed post; nobody had ever seen the Nova Pack Alpha so broken and vulnerable before.
“I’m sorry Jayden, give our Adrian so much love, that he won’t ever feel my absence, promise me my Alpha.” Aurora was crying too and weakly got up and connected her forehead with her mate.
She was aware, she had very little time left with her family.
“I promise you, my love.” Jayden whispered the last words his Luna heard, before she left him.
He still wondered if she was watching him and their son from where she was now and he was sure that if she was, she would have been proud of her son too.
“I’m so proud of you Adrian.” Jayden kissed his son’s sweaty forehead, his fond gaze embedded on the light of his life.
Adrian had just completed his transformation training, quite earlier than the other wolves and the father and son duo had taken a seat next to each other, on the wooden bench across the yard.
“Dad, everyone’s watching.” Adrian shyly mumbled, at the display of affection his father just did, which gathered everyone’s attention.
Jayden chuckled and ruffled his head.
“Let them see how proud you make me son.” Jayden replied in amusement.
Adrian was a polite and an introverted kid, he didn’t speak much, unless required and was extremely sincere and mature, well above his age.
He was responsible and talented, but never bragged or displayed any attitude, a truly wonderful boy.
“At this rate, I fear you’re going to surpass me.” Jayden said with an adoring smile.
“That’s not possible dad, you’re so old.” Adrian giggled, teasing his father a bit.
“Was that a compliment?” Jayden huffed, playing along with his son.
“Maybe.” Adrian said and burst into laughter when his father gasped and made a fake sad face.
“Dad, is training in the Snowy Mountains difficult?” Adrian asked, he knew his father had spent seven years in a special training camp in the Mountains when he was young.
“Yes son, it was, but it also made me the strong Alpha that you’re seeing now.” Jayden encouraged, it was a legacy of the Fenrys family; to be trained by the best, to be the best.
Jayden wanted his son to follow in his footsteps too, in fact he was sure his son would outshine him and what more a moment of pride would be for a father, when he sees his son be more successful than himself.
“Since you’ve trained so hard today, I was thinking maybe we should make blueberry pancakes today.” Jayden said, as he saw his son’s face light up in joy.
Adrian loved blueberries and it was a father and son tradition to make blueberry pancakes together.
“Yayy! Let’s go dad.” Adrian jumped to his feet, with both fists clenched in excitement.
“Dad there is a full moon tomorrow, right?” Adrian asked, while they were walking back to their house.
“Yes son.” Jayden replied, without noticing how Adrian was now walking with a happy skip in his steps.
The next day arrived pretty quickly and Adrian was looking forward to meeting a certain bubbly Omega and showing him his wolf.
He had promised Elio, it would be their secret meeting and so he sneaked out of his room when his dad tucked him to bed.
The young Alpha had to take a longer path to the waterfall because of the wolves from his pack, who were on night patrol.
He turned into his wolf form mid way, as he had practiced several times, to reach his destination faster.
On the other hand, Elio had already reached the waterfall, mesmerized by the full moon and the pretty stars that ornamented the night sky.
The field was surrounded by all types of wild flowers and bushes, which only enhanced the scenery.
The sound of the waterfall, joined in a melodious chorus with the night crickets and the natural wild noises of the forest.
The Omega was seated on a plain obsidian rock, resting his chin on his palm, impatiently waiting for his best friend. He had sneaked out of his house too; his parents didn’t know how mischievous their innocent five-year-old son was.
Elio had noticed a lot of things in the past few days, how his friends had started seeing him a little differently, especially the older one’s and he didn’t understand why.
However he didn’t care about it one bit, he was excited about meeting his new best friend the whole time.
Some pretty butterflies had diverted the Omega’s attention when he registered the sound of footsteps, more like paws hitting the grass.
His nose was hit by a familiar, mahogany scent, as he turned around to meet with glittering, golden eyes, staring right back at him.
It was a young wolf; it’s ink black fur camouflaging with the night sky.
Elio got up from his rock mesmerized by the creature in front, he slowly walked towards the stunning wolf, who was waiting for the Omega to reach him.
“Addy.” Elio let out an amazed whisper, when he came to a stop directly in front of the wolf.
Elio extended his hand to touch the Alpha’s lush, dark fur and giggled when Adrian nuzzled his head in his soft palm, the Omega could see his reflection in the amber eyes of the wolf, while he roamed his hands all over its mane.
Adrian rested his hind legs and jerked forward catching the Omega in an embrace, his wolf was so big, Elio’s petite body only reached till under his jaws.
The Alpha then placed his snout in the Omega’s neck and inhaled his sweet, lavender scent.
Elio let out a string of giggles, when the Alpha’s fur tickled his pale skin.
“You’re so fluffy Addy!” Elio hugged the wolf back, his little hands didn’t even reach his neck completely.
Adrian felt surpassingly accomplished to see the Omega so amazed, Elio’s maroon eyes were shining with reverence for his friend.
The Omega’s touches and giggles gave the Alpha immense satisfaction, he was getting addicted to his cloying lavender scent.
He could not talk to Elio in his wolf form, he would only be able to communicate with his wolf, once the Omega would learn to transform too.
Adrian playfully pushed Elio down on the grass, as he nuzzled in his neck and cuddled his soft, baby belly, while the Omega let out happy noises.
“When I transform into my wolf, I will tickle you so much you will cry!” Elio shrieked while laughing uncontrollably, squirming away from the tickling wolf.
The two pups were so busy with each other, they didn’t notice two pairs of glowing eyes trained on them, from behind the bushes.
“We hit the jackpot Alpha, they’re both pups of pack Alpha’s from the Nova and Calyx.” A sinister voice spoke, addressing to a grinning man behind him.
“A flower smells the sweetest, the day it blossoms, Lucifer.” A deep voice rasped, that dripped with malicious amusement. “What do you mean master?” The wolf called Lucifer, spoke in a sepulchral manner. “The right time, Lucifer, the right moment to strike, where victory is guaranteed.” The master grinned, eyes hooked on the two distracted pups, who were too engrossed in each other to care about the danger lurking around. “Let’s retreat for now, before the night patrol catches our scent.” The two giant wolves concluded their exchange and disappeared, deep into the woods. As the days passed by, Adrian and Eliot met each other every month, on the day of the full moon, reuniting in the same field each time and they talked and played to their hearts content, until the near break of dawn forced them apart. In all this time they spent together, the Alpha realized how different his friend was from other Omegas. Elio would catch his scent from miles away and he was not even at his transf
The Calyx pack members swore to keep Elio’s transformation a secret, when requested by their pack Alpha. Stephan made sure to keep the vulnerable identity of his Omega son, eclipsed from the rest of the werewolf community for the time being, in accordance to the plan that he had discussed with his friend. The Alpha did not want to compromise in any form when it came to his family’s safety, he had one son and he was ready to raise hell in his defense, if the need would arise. Elio was still young and the journey of facing the world had just commenced, he was still learning about his own self, exploring the extent of the unmatched power he was blessed with. The Omega’s strength was equal to that of a full-grown Alpha at the tender age of twelve and there were mixed reactions from the people of the pack. The number of friends Elio had, decreased day by day, the cause being his own elder cousin, trying to convince everyone how hostile and tainted he was. “Even the Omegas don’t want y
“Alpha Ryan, alert the frontier wolves, I’m sure it’s the night patrol and the border guards who are engaged at present.” Diana promptly analyzed the situation, stepping into the responsibility of leadership in the absence of the pack Alpha. “That’s right Luna, the alert has already been issued.” Alpha Ryan replied, he too had immediately taken the required action, as soon as the news of the attack reached him. “That is good, dispatch a warning to the pack members, none of the Omegas, children and juvenile Alphas uncapable of combat should step out of the homes, tell them to secure their houses.” Diana instructed as she locked her own house securely, with her sleeping son inside. “I have done that as well; five Beta wolves are already running the perimeter around pack borders, to assess the numbers of the enemy.” Alpha Ryan informed, as he accompanied the Luna towards the main packhouse. “You are extremely reliable, Alpha Ryan, if not for you and with Stephan missing, we would have
The three wolves turned in unison to face the glowing scarlet eyes, as a medium sized wolf emerged from the middle of the Oak trees, its silver fur standing out in the dark. “Didn’t you hear me?” the voice of the young wolf bellowed in their minds again, “I said step away from my mother, you filthy creatures!” The Omega shrieked at the wolves encircling Diana. “This has to be some kind of joke, an Omega pup is here to save the day, quick, act scared.” The Alpha holding a grip on Diana spoke up, “I guess it’s my luck-” The wolf didn’t get to complete, when suddenly, the white wolf lunged forward with blinding speed and lodged its jaws into the Alpha’s free forelimb, earning an anguished growl. Before the Alpha had time to react, Elio jerked his head with full force to the side, making the Alpha wolf tumble a few feet away, freeing his mother from the painful grip, as he rushed towards her. Elio nudged the blood-soaked snout of his mother’s golden-brown wolf, lying weakly on the grou
“Maa, open your eyes, talk to me please, don’t leave me, NO!” Elio screamed awake, panting and sweating, feeling as if someone was pounding on his head with rocks, “Ughh,” the Omega groaned, clutching his head. “Elio, are you okay, does it hurt anywhere!?” A familiar worried voice asked, the Omega rubbed his blurry eyes and blinked to see his friend Alwyn sitting on the corner of his bed, concern etched on his face. “Alwyn?” Elio asked in a daze, as he slowly looked around and realized he was in his own cozy bedroom, but then again, the events of the moonless night hit him like a boulder, his heart rate became rapid at the recollection of his mother’s state. “Maa!” Elio gasped, “Alwyn, where is my mother!?” The Omega asked, his body jolting in worry, he was so stupid, how could he have collapsed like that when his mother was bleeding so much, she was alive right? Alpha Ryan had come, he had saved her right? Elio’s thoughts were in absolute splits, he wasn’t even able to hear what A
“How dare that low class, wretched male Omega speak to me in that manner.” Alpha Darius grumbled while stomping through the main gate of the Packhouse of the Calyx. He was fuming in anger at the insulting behavior of the pack Alpha and his lowborn son, they had the audacity to tell him, who was an extremely respected member of the Council, to leave in such a rude manner, it was absolutely humiliating. Darius was walking across the field towards the guest lodge, simmering in his thoughts, when he felt someone following him. The Alpha turned abruptly to face a young black haired Alpha boy, who flinched when Darius had turned all of a sudden. The older Alpha’s enraged expression transitioned into an irritated one, as he raised his eyebrows questionably towards the timid looking, lanky Alpha boy. “I wanted to tell you something, mister Darius, my name is Ashton Marrok, the one who is going to be next pack Alpha.” Ashton spoke, trying not to show how scared he was, but his confidence c
Several thick layers of snow covered everything in sight, from the bare branches of the humongous Pines, to the jagged rocky lands and hill slopes, the solitary flowing river nearby too, was encased in frosty glass. The freezing cold vast stretches of the oddly aligned peaks, that were collectively called the Snowy Mountains, truly lived up to its name, providing a perfect set of conditions to ensure, that a werewolf either gets trained to its best abilities or dies of frostbite, and fortunately all the Alphas that were receiving the training currently, did not experience the latter. The special training camp for Alphas at the Snowy Mountains housed candidates from all places far and wide, almost all of them being absolute strangers to each other, but as the years passed by, most of the Alphas had formed a great bond together and despite being of a reserved nature, Adrian had befriended some amazing Alphas too. “Finally, we’re back, no matter how many times I do this, I’ll never rea
A week later of the chaos surrounding the attack and the Council investigation, Elio stood with a letter in hand, which was addressed to him and had come directly from the Central. The letter informed that the son of the pack Alpha of the Cypress, Alpha Enrique Czar, was duly going to arrive in two days’ time, with his personal sentinel, to investigate what had ‘actually’ happened during the staged rogue attack, since he was dissatisfied with the Council report. Maia and Alwyn had already told Elio about everything regarding the conversation between Ashton and Alpha Darius and he didn’t really understand as to why his older cousin hated him to the point of being disloyal to his own pack, he knew he was a male Omega and it was rare that people deemed his rank as likeable or even respectable, but he never did anything wrong to Ashton, in fact it was always the Alpha who belittled him every now and then. However, this time, Ashton Marrok had surpassed the limits of the Omega’s patience
