Chapter Two
•KIANA•
I watched in confusion as my father's face went pale in shock when Aria mentioned that some huge men were in the sitting room demanding to see him. I wondered who the men could be as I silently followed behind my father and Aria to the sitting room. I noticed that my father's hand was shaking and he looked nervous as hell. By now, I had forgotten about the laundry and the only thing on my mind was to quench my curiosity and see who the men that made my father nervous were.
My father and Aria got to the sitting room while I stayed behind a wall, where I hid so that Aria wouldn't see me. I could see everything that was happening in the sitting room from this angle but someone could hardly see me.
Indeed there were big men in black suits and dark shades and each of them were bigger than my father. They all had hard expressions on their faces and even a blind person could see that they were dangerous. That made me shiver in fear.
My eyes drifted off to Candice who was sitting on the couch and she was openly gushing at one of the men, he had on a navy blue suit and dark shades and he looked like he was the one leading the rest of the men. Candice was staring at him dreamily but he didn't pay her any attention. His eyes were fixated on my father.
"Peter, where is the money?" Was the first thing he demanded from my father who still looked nervous and was trying to put up a strong front but was failing.
The guy didn't even bother to exchange pleasantries and that was a clear indication that he was here for business and business alone.
"Don't make me repeat myself." He walked closer to my dad who was already shaking like a leaf. Thee stranger's voice boomed through the house, echoing as he crutched in front of my dad, his face dangerously close to my father's.
"Where. Is. The. Money!"
I winced at how loud he was. His dark orbs darkened even more and I felt my inside sink. He was going to do something to my father if he doesn't respond.
It took a while for me to register what the guy asked my father. My father owes his boss some money? How come I didn't know about it and when did he even borrow the money? So many questions were running through my head.
"I... The money... Please..." My attention got back to the sitting room when I heard my Dad begin to stutter. He was a nervous wreck, he couldn't even form a sentence.
"This is the last time going to ask." The man gritted his teeth. "Where. Is. The. 10. Million. Dollars. You. Borrowed. From. My. Boss?"
He spelled out each words and I staggered when I heard the amount of money he made mention of. 10 million dollars?! How the hell could my Dad borrow such a huge amount of money and what could he have used it for?
"I don't have the money yet please. If you could give me six more months, I'll find some way to gather your money." Dad pleaded, almost going on his knees and the man chuckled darkly.
"It's been two years. Two freaking years and there's no fucking way we're giving you six extra months." The man said, his voice growing louder by the second and my Dad cowered back in fear.
"Please. Okay, give me a month. A month and I'll gather your 10 million dollars for you." Dad tried again but the man seemed to have made up his mind.
"No! You might as well give up the daughter you used as collateral." The man said coldly and I froze in shock.
Did I just hear him say "daughter used as collateral?" That cannot be me, right? Yeah, it's definitely not me. Dad was known to be quite promiscuous so he might have some other daughter outside and their referring to her. Yeah... That must be it.
"Not my daughter please... I'll pay back your money, just give me some time." Dad begged, he was on his knees now.
"I don't have time for this. Bring out your daughter now. Or is it this bitch sitting here?" The man stated then asked, pointing at Candice who was still gushing at him.
"My daughter is not a bitch, and she's not the one he used as collateral. The one he used is upstairs. You can send your men to bring her or I will fetch her myself. She's of no use to this house anyway." Aria uttered, wicked smile on her face as she dragged Candice behind her.
I gaped at her in shock. I knew that Aria was wicked but not to this extent. She was willing to give me up to some unknown men. She's a freaking witch!
"My men will go get her." The man said and signalled to the men behind him and the men spread out.
I got scared as the men began walking towards my direction, they couldn't see me as I hid deeper into the shadows. The men walked past my hiding place and were about to turn the corner when I mistakenly knocked the vase beside me. It crashed loudly on the floor and I shivered. My bad luck just decided to show itself. The men heard the sound as they turned to the direction where the sound had come from but I had moved away from there and was stealthily walking to the backdoor where I could escape if I was careful enough.
"Going somewhere?" I heard the deep voice ask behind me and I jumped in fright. I looked back to see one of the men in suit, the rest of them standing behind him. I had been caught and there was no way I could escape, but I wouldn't go down without trying.
I faced my front, the backdoor was a few feet away from me and if I took some steps, I'll be out of the door in no time. As I attempted to run towards the door, hands grabbed me from behind. Two of the huge men were holding me.
They began tugging me to the sitting room while I struggled against their hold, screaming profanities.
They got to the sitting room and they held me in place, in front of their leader. I looked towards Aria's direction to see a wicked glint in her eyes. She was glad to see me like this. My Dad was on his knees, begging the man in navy blue suit.
"Now that we have your daughter, we can leave." The man said icily.
"Just give me another chance please, I'll gather your money." Dad begged once more but the man bad made up his mind.
"There's no chance left for you. You should have thought of how you were going to repay the money before borrowing and using your daughter as collateral." The man replied and my Dad's shoulders sagged in defeat.
"Dad! They can't possibly be taking me away, can they?" I quizzed, looking at him hopefully.
"I'm sorry, Kiana." He muttered, looking resigned and the tears that had been in my eyes began falling in torrents. I felt betrayed, by my own biological father.
"No!!! You can't just give me off to him like that!" I wailed, struggling against the hold of the huge men that were keeping me in place.
"I'm sorry, Kiana. But this is beyond my control. You have been promised to him ever since you turned 18. I used you as collateral in case I couldn't pay back the money I borrowed." My father said, his head bowed in despair.
"Nooooooo." I screamed as the huge men dragged me out of the house like I weighed nothing, like I was a sack of potatoes. I heard Aria and Candice snicker while my Dad sobbed quietly as the men took me out of the house.
The two men that were holding me threw me into the backseat of a black SUV and they each got in after me, sitting on either side of me. There was no way for me to get out of the car. I thrashed against them and tried to punch the one on my left but before my fist could even come in contact with his face, I felt an handkerchief pressed against my nose and my body sagged as my eyes drooped. The last thing I heard before getting pulled into a dark abyss was: "She was being such a bitch."
Chapter Three•KIANA•I felt my fingers twitch as my eyes slowly cracked open. I snapped it close a second later because of the bright light. I opened my eyes again and they have gotten accustomed to the light. The first thing my eyes came in contact with was a beautiful tray ceiling with a golden chandelier. I let my hand wander across the bed and it was softer than anything I had ever seen. I quickly got into a sitting position and looked around the room. The room was dark, save for the chandelier and the curtains were drawn close but sunlight was peeking inside. There was a nagging voice at the back of my mind telling me that I had been abducted and I tried to remember what happened. That was when everything that had happened began playing in my head like I was watching a TV. I remembered being dragged out of my father's house by the huge men that came to get back their money, I also remember that I was put inside their car and one of them drugged me when I was putting up a fight.
Chapter Four•KIANA•"Huh Julie... What's the occasion? Isn't this a little too much for someone that's going to be locked up in a room all day?" I asked with a puzzled look on my face."No, it's not too much. And you're not going to stay locked up in this room. You're going to have brunch with The Boss' family." She said and I froze.Say what?!"What did you say?" I quizzed, like I didn't hear her the first time she said it."You're going to have brunch with The Boss' family." She repeated calmly."Why? And who is this "Boss" that you've been talking about?" I questioned, emphasizing on the boss."You're having brunch with them because they want to meet you and also because the Boss said so. And the Boss I've been talking about is Mr. Aiden Griffin." She responded patiently.Who the heck is Mr. Aiden Griffin?! I've never heard of that name in the twenty years that I've spent on Earth."Uhm... Okay." I sighed."Is it mandatory for me to go for brunch? Can my food be brought to me?" I
Chapter Five•KIANA•I was in my room two hours later, laying on the bed with nothing to do. Breakfast with Emma, Gabriel and Cassie went really well and I secretly wished for it to never end but they had to go back to their house. Turns out this Villa was for "The Boss" and he didn't live with his family. They only came to get to know me and have brunch with me which was quite a nice thing to do. Now, I'm back in my room with nothing to do. I could only stare at the ceiling as if there was something interesting about it.If I had a notebook and pen with me. I could make myself busy by writing but neither of that was here. Trust me, I've checked every nook and cranny of this room but I didn't find anything that I could write with. I would have asked Julie for the notebook and pen but she had left me after the brunch and the door was locked. I had nothing to do except for laying on the bed and staring at the ceiling and walls.I was beginning to fall asleep when I heard someone open t
Chapter Six•KIANA•I woke up two hours later when I felt someone's burning gaze on me. I snapped my eyes open to see a large figure bent above me. The figure showed that it was a man and I stared into deep blue eyes that were staring right at me. The first thing I heard the figure say was:"Hello Kiana. Nice to finally meet you." The deep voice resounded in my ears and it sent shivers down my spine.I instantly got into a sitting position, scared to the bones."Who are you?" Was the first thing that came out of my mouth."Your soon-to-be husband." He replied coldly and I shivered in fear.I have a feeling that this man is not nice."I don't have a future husband!" I blurted out a snappy reply before I could stop myself."Oh? You don't?" He asked in a tone that I could very well tell that he was mocking me."Yes! I still have a long way to go in my life and a husband in not part of my agenda now." I stated."Oh well, you don't have a choice in this matter, bitch." He said coldly."I
Chapter Seven•KIANA•"What did you just say?" I asked dumbly, like I didn't hear what he said before."You've been making me repeat myself in the last minutes and I don't normally do that." He stated."I said that what if I sent you to college?""Wow, do you mean it? This is the first time I'm hearing something like this." I uttered, staring at him with a mixture of shock and disbelief."I don't say things that I don't mean." He responded simply.I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I had always dreamed of going to college to study English Literature but I discarded that thought because of lack of money. Now, Aiden is offering to send me to college. There's no way I'm refusing that offer.I looked at him with tears welling up in my eyes."Are you serious?" I asked in a whisper."Yes bitch, I am!" He snapped and I figured out that he couldn't take any more of my questions. I turned a deaf ear to what he addressed me as."Wow, thank you so much. I don't know how to appreciate you."
Chapter Eight•AIDEN•I walked through the dark hallways that lead to the torture room.My best friend and second-in-command, Liam, was the one that came to the dinning room to summon me. The victim in the torture room was giving them a hard time so they needed me to come take care of it.I opened the door to the room and strode into the room with my hands shoved inside my pockets. I walked into the cold and dim room, my eyes fixated on the battered man that was tied to the chair. His face was full of bruises but it was very much deserved."Good evening, Boss." All of my men that were present in the room inclined their heads and greeted me.I nodded my head in response."He still haven't talked?" I asked Liam and he bobbed his head."Yes, the fucker said that he would rather eat shit than say anything." Liam replied.Interesting.The fucker did something that he knew I hated and he knew perfectly well that he would be punished for it but he went on to do it. He got high on my drugs,
Chapter Nine|Next Morning|•KIANA•I woke up some minutes ago and immediately went to the bathroom to take my bath. I got dress dressed in the outfit Julie brought for me. Then I went to the dining room to have breakfast which was practically toast, bacon, eggs and tea. After having breakfast, Julie came to my room and informed me that it was time for us to go to the mall to get the things I'll be needing in the house. She took me to the garage where I saw different fleet of cars ranging from SUVs to jeeps to sports cars. We met an older man who was in a dark suit and he appeared to be the one driving us."We're taking that car." He uttered, pointing at one of the SUVs. I bobbed my head and got into the backseat of the car with Julie. The older man got into the driver's seat after us and drove out of the villa.I looked out of the window to see the route we were driving through. The whole place was surrounded by trees on both sides, no sight of other houses or people and I almost th
Chapter Ten|Nighttime; 8:00 p.m.|•AIDEN•"What are planning to do to him?" Liam asked me.We were on our way to Rodrigo's mansion and I only took Liam with me because I was sure as hell that I could take on Rodrigo by myself and he will handle any of Rodrigo's boys that were around."I'll beat him so hard and leave him on the verge of death. He will beg for death but I wouldn't give that to him, I will leave him to die slowly." I explained absentmindedly. My mind was on something else entirely. And that something totally didn't involve a certain gain that had a banging body that I wished to ravish in all ways possible."I trust you." He said with a chuckle. He was driving while I sat at the passenger side of the car.Soon, Liam pulled over at a place a little bit far from Rodrigo's mansion but we could see his house from there. Stupidly enough for him, he didn't have a gate so it would be easier for us to get into the place. As expected, there were men with guns all over the place.
