Chapter Seventeen

“What was the-thing out there?” Tivona shakily asked the Huntress as they walked through the forest, guided by a small orb of flame that the Huntress had conjured earlier.

After the Huntress had released an arrow directed at the creature, Aedre took that as a sign to grab Tivona, against to the younger’s protests at the sudden movement and ran from the scene, without looking back, the Huntress following after them.

Aedre and her exchanged a look, the other hesitant in telling the younger the truth while she was persistent as there was no use to hide the younger from the horrors of the world as she should get used to it earlier than later.

The older-now the caretaker of the younger heaved out a sigh. “A puckwedgie.”
