Chapter 14: Banquet Part 1

Asher's POV 

Friday evening and the day of Michael and Summer's celebration banquet came in a flash, and Asher found himself once again staring at the entrance of Bon Temps.

Despite his best efforts to convince himself that he wouldn't have any part of Sarah's plan to sabotage Michael and Summer's banquet, he found himself here now waiting for the woman to arrive so that he could be her plus one for the nights big event. 

Up ahead a line had already formed at the entrance of the building as two men busied themselves checking invitations, followed by doing body checks before allowing guests entrance.

Asher found it odd given the fact this was simply a celebration for family and friends.  Why would they even need to check those who were invited for weapons?
