Athena paced back and forth to calm herself but no matter what she couldn't calm down herself. It was finally the day she would get married to Roman Morin. It's a simple wedding which is going to take place in a church. Besides, they had already applied for marriage registration and collected the certificate a few days back.
The traditional marriage rituals were to satisfy the old patriarch of the house.
Athena couldn't say she was too happy. The only thing she was anticipating from the marriage was the job in Morin Corporation. It was like a golden goose that would lay golden eggs for her at the end of every month.
She had already signed the contract which was sent by Roman and from thisday she would live with Roman in his apartment and that didn't make her feel better either.
She couldn't imagine living in a shady luxurious apartment with Snobbish Morin, even though he was her eye candy and she had a huge crush on him. But still, she preferred living in the Morin mansion with her beloved garden and magnolia plants.
Athena sighed! Her mind was running too wildly. In a few minutes, Henry Morin will come and take her through the aisle.
Just as the thought crossed her mind she heard heavy footsteps coming towards her. She hurriedly went in front of the mirror and took a last glance at her appearance.
She looked beautiful dressed in the long white gown which floated down from her waist to the anklet. It had a sweetheart neckline and the body was covered with thin nets and stones.
Her chestnut hair was put in an elegant bun with a few strands of hair falling out here and there. A long veil was put on the top of her bun while a diamond clip held it tightly on her hair.
She didn't put much makeup nor jewellery on. She had a simple pair of earrings and a diamond studs pendant.
"You look beautiful, Athena." Someone said from behind making her turn around in a swift motion. She put her hands on her chest and took a small breath of relief.
"Grandpa! You almost scared me." She said with a smile making Henry chuckle.
"By the way, thank you!" Athena thanked him for his previous compliment.
"For the compliment or for giving you, my grandson?" Henry asked with a wink making Athena blush red.
"For both." She answered, making Henry smile.
"Take care of my grandson. He's a bit stubborn and cold but he's good by heart. He has just stopped expressing himself from the day his parents died." Henry expressed his concern regarding his grandson, his voice was heavily filled with sadness.
Athena felt a bit bad seeing Henry upset. She quickly went towards him and pulled him in a hug.
"Don't worry, grandpa! I will take care of him and feed him healthy food every day." Athena tried to assure him in a serious tone before breaking the hug.
Henry chuckled at her words and nodded.
"I believe in you. Now let's go. Your groom is waiting for you." Henry said while holding his arms out for Athena. Athena smiled and nodded before taking his arms and following his pace. She slowly walked towards her fate which was yet to be known.

Athena slowly walked down the aisle of the church while holding Henry's arms. She could feel all the eyes on her. Around 10 or 15 people were present in the hall. She could see Emilia waving at her excitedly while Helen and Gabriel gave her a small smile.
Aunt Layla, Lexi and James were standing in the rows. She smiled at them and averted her eyes. Lastly, her eyes landed on her groom who was standing there with his three best men.
Elijah- His cousin.
Oliver- His best friend/ business partner
Ayden- His cousin from his mother's side.
Elijah looked at her coldly while Oliver grinned at her. Ayden on the other hand just nodded politely at her. Meanwhile, her groom had a stern expression plastered on his face as his blue eyes stared at her blankly. He was dressed in a blue suit and white shirt. His hair looked perfectly gelled. He looked well-groomed and devilishly handsome. Just looking at his handsome face made her heart skip a beat.
She could feel her heart beating faster. She slowly averted her eyes from him and looked down to hide her nervousness. Slowly they reached where Roman was standing as he came down and held his right arm forward to take her hands in his.
"Take care of her," Henry commanded in a soft voice as he gave Athena's hands in Roman's hand. Roman gripped Athena's hand lightly in his.
"Don't worry, grandpa! I will." He answered in a calm voice before helping Athena to get up on the stage. She could feel the tingling sensation all over her body by the mare touch of his hand. She didn't dare to look at his face as she stood in front of him while the priest started the ceremony,
Soon the wedding began and they took their Vows. Emilia brought the wedding ring and they exchanged the rings.
"Now I announce you as a lawfully wedded husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." The priest announced the last sentences making Athena look at Roman with nervous eyes.
"Don't kiss the bride," Athena whispered lightly so that only Roman could hear her. Roman looked at her and his cold face bloomed into a devilish smile before he held her waist and pulled her close to him.
"To seal the deal, I need to kiss the bride." He whispered in her ears before finally crashing his lips on her. Athena felt her body go numb and her heart went crazy the moment his lips touched hers.
After a soft kiss on the lips, he finally pulled away from her. Athena hid her face as she heard Oliver and Emilia cheer. She didn't know why she was behaving like a teenager but she couldn't help it.
Come on, Athena, Calm down! A wedding is incomplete without a kiss! She tried to assure herself before taking a deep breath. But the relief was short-lived when Roman leaned towards her and put his hands on her waist.
"Come on, let's go home, wife," Roman whispered in her ears slowly. Athena instantly took a step back from him and threw a glare in his direction which made him smirk devilishly at her.
The cat-mouse game has just begun!

Athena slowly followed Roman and entered his penthouse. It was a well-furnished and luxurious penthouse. Athena was very tired after the long wedding ceremony and wanted to go to her room and sleep as soon as possible. "Which one is my room?" Athena asked while yawning. She looked like a disaster with her hair looking like a bird's nest. Roman turned around and looked at her expressionlessly. "Upstairs, first room from the left," Roman answered in a casual voice making Athena nod. "Thanks. I will get going then. Good night Mr Morin." Athena said and greeted him a good night before making her way towards the staircase to go upstairs. "R
It was already lunchtime by the time Athena finished making half of the report. She yawned while stretching her body. Her back was aching from sitting too long in the same posture. The office room she was given was a nice one. It was comfortable and everything was well furnished. She was given a personal computer to work on. Athena took her phone out and checked the time. Time to have some lunch. Thinking of food, her stomach grumbled. She didn't eat anything since morning and was very hungry so she decided to take a break and go to eat something. She packed her bag and was about to go out when the telephone on her desk started to ring. She became startled for a moment. She slowly picked the phon
It was around 9 pm when Athena finally finished sending the last email. She was exhausted already so she quickly put her things in her bag and grabbed her phone from her desk before finally making her way out of her cabin. She was holding the printed files in one hand and her stuff in others as she made her way towards Roman's office. The whole floor was calm and silent as everyone had already left. She sighed, thinking when she would be able to go home and sleep. Meanwhile, busy in her thoughts she finally reached Roman's office and knocked two times as usual before entering. She closed the door behind her back and glanced at Roman who was going through some files. As usual, he didn't bother to look up so she cleared her throat to get his attention to which Roman finally looked up at and before putting the file aside.
It's been two weeks since Athena joined the Morin Corporation as Roman's joint Secretary. Also, it's been three weeks since she married Roman Morin legally after signing the prenuptial contract and agreed to be his hidden wife.In the past two weeks, Roman didn't let a single opportunity go to waste to exhaust her. He did everything to make her work hard starting from making her do every single chore. She made his coffee, arranged his schedule, brought him breakfast, lunch and dinner, sent emails, and brought gifts for his clients to impress them. Everything!Athena knew he was doing all those to make her quit but she wouldn't. Instead, she did everything without any mistakes. But alas she always finds a way to mock or insult her which makes her angrier day by day.
Around 30 minutes later they all reached the five-star hotel where the party was going to take place. In the whole journey from Bianca's house to the venue, Athena almost got a headache seeing how hard Bianca was trying to impress Roman. She couldn't help but frown watching how causally Bianca was trying to get close to Roman. On the other hand, Roman didn't seem interested in her at all.He behaved politely and kept his distance much to Bianca's protest.Back to the present, Kevin parked the car and got out of the car before rushing to open the door for Roman. Roman elegantly got out of the car and went to the other side to open the car door for Bianca like a gentleman. Kevin then came to Athena's side to open the door for her but she had alr
Athena looked at the man standing a few inches away from her with a scowl. She furrowed her brows while trying to process his words. When was she flirting? He was accusing her of something that she didn't do and it made her angry. She raised her eyes and looked directly at Roman was busy glaring at her. "Excuse me, what do you mean? I didn't flirt with anyone. I was just being polite with Mr Murphy." Athena finally snapped at him. "Really? But It didn't look like just talking to me. I'm warning you Athena if you try to do something like this again or do anything that harms my reputation then I won't play nice." Roman warned her directly. His voice was neutral while his face didn't sho
Athena quietly followed Roman into the tall building of The Morin Corporation. It was already past 9 in the evening so there weren't many people around. As they quietly made their way inside, the night guard came in their direction and greeted them politely. "Good evening, Sir and Madam. Is there any emergency?" The night guard asked simply. "Good evening, Rick. How are you? Yes, I need to collect some documents from my office." Roman greeted him back before answering his question. "I'm good. Thank you." The guard Rick answered while fixing the rifles or guns on his shoulder. As his eyes collided with Athena she passed him her usual sweet smile with a nod before twirling behind Roman while
"Good Morning, Athena! You are early today!" Rhea, the receptionist's warm voice filled Athena's ears as she hurriedly took her steps forward. She paused her steps and turned around to look at Rhea with a smile. The woman was as usual dressed in a pair of palazzo suits with her hair tucked in a perfect french bun. She was a charming young woman and many men from the company sought after her but too bad she was already engaged to her college's boyfriend. "Good morning, Rhea. Yes! Mr Morin and I are going to the newly bought company for a visit, that's why." Athena smiled. Rhea nodded. "Ahh! The Navy and Grey Corporation! Good luck then!" She beamed as she wished Athena good luck while showing her perfect pearly white teeth.
