Helen’s car was so light and smooth on the road that it felt as though we were flying not driving. It’s amazing what money can do in this world of ours. The security men at the gate didn’t even stop us as I drove up to the gate, they merely raised their hands in greeting to Helen who smiled at them as we drove past. I made a comment about this to her and she laughed and shrugged. “As that saying goes, everyone has a price.” She placed her hand on her chin and thought for a minute. “Actually I think that saying is rather cruel because Jack and Rick, the security men, probably have families to take care of so when I offered them the money as a bribe to let us out they accepted because they would do anything for their families.” I found myself looking at her from the side of my eyes in a new light. She was nothing like the other massively rich kids in school, nothing like Tyler, Heather, and Christian that’s for sure! She was passionate too. I smiled. Since my move here I’ve made really
There was a buzzing sound in the newsroom when I entered for the meeting Annabel had announced to the crew. Everyone was present. Martin was reading through some news stuff Adeshewa submitted to him and Annabel. As I walked in Annabel looked up and motioned for me to take my seat. “Took your precious time coming eh Underwood?” She said. “I had to submit my latest chemistry report.” As I said this I slanted my eyes at Christian who was seated two seats away from me. His lips were pressed together as though he was trying to suppress a smile. The idiot had gone ahead to submit his chemistry lab report before me and I had to do last-minute work using Charlie’s titration figures to manipulate mine. I had promised myself to read up on chemistry, one of the worst subjects ever as I’m beginning to realize so that I could wipe the smug smile off of Christian’s face any time we had practical to do. But somehow I always forget to read up on the practical stuff when I read my chemistry textbook
“I swear you have the smile of a cat in cream.” I turned slightly to look at Charlie from where I was stuffing my books in my bag. She was narrowing her eyes at me with her arms crossed. “I swear I know you are up to something. You’ve had this really mischievous smile on your face since yesterday and I know you’re up to no good. Come on, spit it out. Tell Mama what you’re up to.” I rolled my eyes at her partly because of her referring to herself as Mama and partly because she was just too observant for her own good. Of course, I was up to something and yes I was up to no good. I raised my hands in surrender. “Yes, you got me I am up to no good. And that’s because I have been pressured to go back to being the bad girl.” She squealed. “No way! You’re really going to finally get back at the Bad Boys Club for humiliating you?” I nodded. She covered the space between us and hugged me while screaming loud enough to burst my eardrums. “Yes! Now we can have some drama liven this place u
Since we couldn’t finish the assembly due to Heather and Tyler scratching away at their groins aggressively causing the entire school to laugh Mr. Jorge sent the rest of the students to their classes while the health prefects helped both Tyler and Heather to the school hospital which was just a few feet away from the school area. Shewa came to stand beside me as we watched them carry a screaming Heather to the hospital while Tyler was assisted by Christian and Jordan. It was a funny and terrible sight to see the dignified Heather who ran the school and Tyler the coolest, richest, and most ‘handsome' itching away at their groins in a rather undignified manner. Even though everyone was asked to go to their classes a lot of students still stood around, watching and laughing as both Heather and Tyler were taken away. I mean come on, you can’t kill the cat’s curiosity. And if I must be honest this comeback was better than anything I would have come up with alone. I looked beside me at Ade
I leaned into the kiss like my life depended on it. Who knew that Christian could kiss so well? Okay, maybe I did since I’ve been eyeing his lips for weeks and hating Heather because she got to kiss him while I got nothing. But his kiss was so much better than what I had imagined. The way his lips locked with mine was perfect, his soft lips seemed to shape mine in a way that made my knees melt. I opened my mouth at his nudging and sighed as he slipped his tongue past my lips. Before I knew it I was throwing my arms around his neck, drawing him closer for more. I could only barely feel the full pain of the ceramic washbasin behind my back as Christian pushed me against it, I was too busy savoring one kiss after another. Christian’s hands slipped from my waist, one of his hands outlined the shape of my ass while the other slid up my back until he was crushing my chest against his. I didn’t mind the pressure though since I wanted this as much as he did. The way he kissed me made me thin
“Is everything alright?” It was Charlie. I was back in class and she was sitting beside me, casting glances from time to time. I could tell that she was worried about my frown since I had been smiling just 1 hour ago. Since I returned from my very pleasant meeting with Christian my victory turned a little sour in my mouth. I couldn’t get over his hypocrisy and how he wanted it to seem like it was okay for me to be bullied and not okay for me to have some fun of my own. “I’m fine,” I replied Charlie. She wasn’t convinced but she nodded anyway. She looked past me to the last row in the classroom and back at me. “If I had a dollar for every time Ward looks over here I’d be a thousand times richer. And I don’t even think he has looked at Heather as much as that since they both started dating.” She looked at me and smiled a typical Charlie smile. “But come to think of it, I don’t think Christian has ever looked at Heather like he’s torn between either strangling her or fucking her sensel
Friday was one of the best days in Edwin and Co. Everyone knew it was the start of the weekend and even though there was nothing much to do during the weekend besides sports on Saturday morning, free time in the evenings, and church on Sunday morning every student of Edwin and Co. still looked forward to the weekend. I for one had a good reason to look forward to the weekend this time around because Annabel invited me to the seniors' quarters for their weekly party. I already invited Charlie to come with me as my moral support and because she begged my ears until I had to ask Annabel to let me invite her. I already had my party clothes ready! The thigh-length sweater I had gotten from Helen when we went out to shop was a good combo with my sneakers. I actually thought about inviting Helen to the party but she declined the invitation because, according to her, she had a fish to catch. Well, it seems someone has caught Helen’s eye. But the party was still at least 24 hours away. For no
The class was silent as we waited for Ms. Elena to arrange the test papers. Ms. Elena is one of those teachers who love to call out the results of each student after a test. I personally find it annoying because I don’t want anyone in my business, I don’t want anyone to know whether or not I passed a test. According to Ms. Elena though, she calling out the results was a way of encouraging students to work harder. In the last mini-test we did in chemistry I had a 70% which was a B. It wasn’t too bad because I always had a D back in Lake George. It was a huge improvement and I have Annabel to thank for that. Charlie had a B+ in the last test, and not that it’s any of my business but Christian had an A+ with 99%. I swear that boy is so perfect that sometimes I think the word perfect was made for him. Something was bugging my mind though, Tyler’s results were never mentioned in class. At first, I supposed it happened like that because he was the son of the owner of the school but after a
