Chapter Seventeen

Shannon’s POV

A few hours later as I walked toward the cafeteria, the weight of the brothers’ angry gazes bore down on me. I could feel their resentment lingering like a cloud all day after they had witnessed my introduction to Brendan just like every other student.

However, the prospect of joining Brendan and Leila for lunch stirred my spirits. The newfound friendship between us offered a relief from the brothers. For the first time in days, I had stopped worrying about them for a few hours.

Yet, as I approached the cafeteria, the trio suddenly appeared in my front, circling me like just as always. The air thickened with tension as they began their onslaught.

“Cute little bonding session with Brendan, huh?” Cole sneered, his tone laced with mockery.

Ricky shot a disdainful glance. “You really think you can replace us with some outsider?”

I stood my ground, determined to defy their attempts to control my life. “Brendan is kind to me, and he treats me well. Unlike you three.”
