CHAPTER 24
Fiona drove her car to Tyler's company and forgot what she has promised him. On the beach when Tyler told her to leave him, she said she wouldn't show her face in front of Tyler for a month. Yet, out of anger, she went straight to Tyler's office without thinking clearly. She opened the door to Tyler's office rather harshly which startled Tyler.
"What the?... Don't you know how to knock?" Said Tyler.
"I don't have time for unnecessary things!" Fiona exclaimed.
"And you have so much time barging in my office?" Tyler said raising a brow.
"I came here to talk to you abou-" She said but Tyler cut her off.
"Is this about Aubrey again?" He asked annoyed.
"Yes, it is! Are you really going to steal Aubrey from Rhyan?!" Fiona said through gritted teeth.

Tyler immediately opened the envelope when he entered his room. His face loomed when he saw what it is. In his hands, he's holding a picture of Aubrey and Rhyan fighting. Of course, the picture includes Rhyan grabbing Aubrey's arms harshly and slapping her face.Tyler's blood boiled upon seeing the picture."How dare you hurt her, Rhyan! I'll make sure you pay for it no matter what! I'll take her back to where she belongs!" Tyler said through gritted teeth as he stares at the pictures on his hands.But then he remembered what he did to Aubrey five years ago. What Rhyan did cannot be compared to how he treated Aubrey. His mind was then filled with the images of Aubrey crying as she kept begging him to stop hurting her. Her cries echoed in his ear like it was just yesterday."Fuck!" He mumbled and walked towards the table beside his bed.Tyler placed the pictures on top of the table and sat on his bed with his hands covering half of his face.

"NO! I'm not going to talk to you when you're this drunk, Rhyan!" Aubrey said with a shaky voice.That night, when Rhyan raped her, he smells like alcohol. It means, he had been drinking alcohol that night, and thus, Aubrey couldn't help but tremble in fear as the same scent and the same voice asks her to come out of the bathroom."I've been so nice to you this whole time... "Uhm..." Rhyan groaned as he wakes up. He looks exhausted and his head is throbbing due to a hangover. He remembered everything that has happened last night. He feels bad for Aubrey as it was not his intention to hurt her, but he ended up doing so. He turned to look at the other side of the bed as he was facing the other hoping to see Aubrey sleeping soundly. But, contrary to his wishes, Aubrey is not there. He started to panic and immediately went to the bathroom to check, but she's not there too. He rushed outside of the room and looked for their maid, Linda. He saw her cleaning in the kitchen and immediately ran towards her. "Where's Aubrey?" He asked Linda grabbing her arms. Linda gasped in surprise, she hadn't seen Rhyan coming her way. TWO DAYS LATER, Rhyan was sitting in his study when the doorbell rang. His servant immediately went to see who it was and saw a package outside the gate. The maid had no idea what to do about the package so she went to inform Rhyan about the unknown package. "Sir, there's a package outside the gate... Nothing's written on the box, so I don't know who it is from and whom to give it to. What should I do about it?" The maid asked cautiously. Her name is Marin, Linda's friend. They started working on the same day and they're the same age so they get along pretty well. She was there when Linda was dragged outside but she's too powerless she couldn't help her at all. After witnessing what happened to Linda, Marin made sure to act as cautious as possible around Rhyan. She made sure to perform her job better even without any eyes watching. Because just like Linda, Marin also needed this job for her family. "Bring the package here," Rhyan answere

"Thank god we left the house earlier. Had we left a minute later we would have been caught." Shane said.They were riding her car with their things when they encountered four black vehicles heading to the house where they were staying. They hadn't seen who the people inside the vehicles are, but they knew the purpose of those people very well."Yeah, you're right..." Aubrey answered weakly with her thoughts busy, thinking what to do.It's still 4;23 am and the kids are still asleep. Aubrey knew that it's not safe staying in one place for too long because Rhyan will be able to find her no matter where she hides."Shane, can you take care of the kids for me?" "You can count on me, I will help you to the best of my ability," Tyler said as he hugs Aubrey. Aubrey let herself cry in Tyler's arms. It has been so long since they've been this intimate with each other and Tyler utterly broke Aubrey five years ago but their connection with each other remains. Aubrey too has no idea why, but she feels safe in Tyler's embrace. Though she no longer hates him, she can't forgive him either. But still, with him by her side, she feels like she could loosen her guard down for a while and let herself free from all the accumulated pain weighing in her heart. "We found her!" Said the man with a black suit behind the tree with his phone on his ears. "Bring her to me," Rhyan said from the other line of the call. "Got it!" The man in a black suit answered and slowly walked out behind the tree. Tyler and Aubrey were utterly shocked to see a bulky man before them, not just one but there are three more behind him.

"No, no! This can't be real... Rhyan can't possibly locate them in that place so soon." Aubrey said as she looked at the picture with her trembling hands. "Does anyone else know they'll be staying there?" "N-No... Only the house owner, Shane's old acquaintance. But he does not know who we are, he only knows Shane so he can't be the one who's informed Rhyan about their location." "I think he does. Look!" Tyler said. He showed Aubrey trending news using his phone. Turns out Rhyan has let the public know about Aubrey's disappearance. In the news, he made it seem like Aubrey's been kidnapped and so were their children. And whoever could lead him to them will receive one million dollars. "I think everyone knows. Your face is everywhere..." "Damn! I shouldn't have run away just yet... If only I could bear staying by his side for another night this wouldn't have had to happen." Before the sun rises, Aubrey and Tyler heard the screeching sound of vehicles approaching. Tyler hurriedly went to the window to check, just in case, it’s another group of black-suited men sent by Rhyan. He wasn’t wrong about the guys from those vehicles wearing a black suit but those aren’t Rhyan’s men, it’s Kai’s and Kai is also one of them. There are two vans and both are filled with his men. When the vehicles stopped right in front of the house Tyler and Aubrey are currently staying in, it is still dark but the sun will rise in just a couple more minutes. “Take them out,” Kai ordered his men.
