Chapter Twenty Three

Two weeks. I'd been in the hospital with mom for two weeks and she'd barely said a word to me after she hit me the other day. I didn't blame her though because if it was possible, I'd have beaten myself up to an inch of my life and I probably wouldn't have stopped.

Dad's condition wasn't getting any better and he'd given us quite a scare when he flat lined two days after his bypass surgery but thankfully the doctors were able to stabilize him.

The rest of the family including Grandma Bianca, Grandpa Julian and Grandma Anne arrived the next day and were all lodged in Southern Sun. I saw my sister Ina again after so many years and she was so very different from the spoilt little brat that had ruined my life all those years ago. We didn't talk much but the atmosphere wasn't as tense as it used to be if we were both in the same room.
