The vast expanse of the night sky was illuminated by vivid stars and dancing fireflies as an older man with grassy green eyes walked out of the back door of his modest home.
He removed his phone from his pocket, dialed a number, and raised the phone to his right ear.
“… Yes… Yes, I’m aware it’s late, but I’m sure you want to hear this... That boy you were looking for… Yes… It was a coincidence… I’m sorry you think that… Anyways, I’ll spend the day tomorrow training him… I’ll be sure to keep in touch… You too, Brianna. Sleep well, young one.”
The man returned his phone back to his pocket, then proceeded to retrieve and ignite a cigarette.

The afternoon sun had begun to sink into the horizon. Poofy, cotton-like clouds dotted the sky as brittle, brown leaves floated through the air and the calls of birds who had not yet hibernated echoed throughout the landscape.Amongst that landscape was a somewhat small but a certainly dilapidated houses. The subtle cracks in the brickwork and the invasive overgrowth of weeds and bushes complimented the structure’s appearance.As the passerby humans and the straggling birds returned to their respective nests for yet another night off from the story of life, creaking sounds from the well-aged house’s floorboards could be heard from the outside world. The creaking sounds were eventually followed by the sound of an opening door.Suddenly, the ramshackle house no longer produced noise.Tamashi and Sensei stood in the doorway to the house’s guest bathroom. The student and the teacher both appeared to be utterly confused and disgusted.
