Amelia's POV

The night was crisp and quiet as I made my way home from a long day at work. The streets were dimly lit, casting eerie shadows on the pavement. I quickened my pace, a faint unease settling in the pit of my stomach. It felt as though eyes were watching me, observing my every move.

As I approached my apartment building, I glanced over my shoulder, half-expecting to catch a glimpse of someone lurking in the shadows. But the street was empty, devoid of any sign of life. I dismissed my paranoia as mere imagination, the product of an overactive mind.
