Chapter 11

“Bakit ang aga mo? Mamaya pa ang bukas ng clinic mo, ‘di ba?” tanong sa kaniya ni Iris na hindi tumitingin sa kaniya. Sinusian nito ang pinto ng coffee shop pero hindi magawa dahil nanginginig ang kamay.

Tor tried not to smile and gently took the keys from her hand. “Let me do that for you.” Narinig niya ang pagbuntong hininga ni Iris pero hindi ito umayaw sa tulong niya.

As soon as the door opened, Iris went in. Tor followed her and sat on the countertop. Pinanood niya si Iris kumilos. She started brewing coffee and the aroma hit his nose. It was heavenly.

Iris made him a cup, at isa pa para sa sarili nito,

“Thank you. Wala bang good morning kiss na kasama ang—“ Sinamaan siya ng tingin ni Iris. He flashed her a boyish smile. “Sabi ko nga okay na itong kape.”

While having her coffee, Iris set the oven to a desired temperature at nagsimula na itong kumuha ng mga ingredients para magbake. Tor remained quiet the whole time and was content watching her work. First, she made a muffin, fo
