Chapter 30

Scarlett's POV

I saw Jane, eating in the dining room, I think she was done eating because I saw her wiping her mouth.

I tightened my grip on the food in my hand as I felt my hands slightly tremble when I stepped closer to her.

I greeted her, bowing my head slightly before placing the food on the table.

She looked at the food with disgust before pushing it away with her finger as if it were filth.

" Take this disgusting thing out of my sight. I have taken a better thing." She said, looking at me with disdain.

I stayed rooted to the ground as my body slightly trembled. I couldn't believe that Jane made me go through the stress of making another meal when she knew that she wouldn't eat it.

" Why did you make me prepare this if you knew you wouldn't eat it?" I asked, my voice cracking with pain.

" Are you complaining?" she asked, anger evident in her tone.

My heart weighed heavy in my chest. I didn't know what to say, I was exhausted.

I began to pack the meal and she pushed the wine
