Chapter 2

"Argh!" A yelp exploded from the lady plopping on the bed, she practically sprang out of the bed. However, she slumped back on the bed when a severe pain spread through her body like a plague.

She was panting heavily, and beads of sweat shrouded her forehead as she gazed fearfully at the ceiling. Her body aches like hell, it was as if her whole body was on invisible fire right now... 

It was evident that she had a nightmare, it was a very scary one that could fright a cat and it felt so real!

"What kind of a nightmare is this?" Katrina hums weakly in her mind as she was too exhausted to say a word "It felt so natural and I felt trapped in the nightmare!"

‘You were given the privilege of a second life, a second chance, Katrina!’ The eerie voice of the pale girl who stood in the foggy woods murmured creepily to her after she was slain by the witch!

Katrina weakly shuffled as she sat on her butt, she let out a grunt as she rested her head against the wall —her mind was crammed with the illusions of the terrible nightmare she just had.

It was very treacherous; she dreamt about her mate betraying her and her mother's pack being destroyed and mercilessly raided. The howls and wails of the pack children and mothers throbbing as the men were being massacred and blood coloring the atmosphere.

"Lucien..." Katrina utters feebly the first word from her lips as she recalls the cold and harsh smugness her mate bestows on her in the nightmare.

"No!" She shakes her head fearfully as she strives to abstain from the visions of the nightmare, she was willing to let go of the imagination from her brain, "He can never do that to me, he loves me!"

Anxieties traveled to every core in Katrina's body and she has no option but to sail out of the bed, she needs to see Lucien!

Dashing out of her tiny room as she ignores the pains in every inch of her bones, and she waddles down the stairs. However, she bumps into her stepsister, Sienna.

"Bitch!" Sienna spit at Katrina's face as she saw the soul who rammed into her while she was journeying to her room.

Katrina was slightly unstable, she felt woozy after pulling away from Sienna. She clasped her head in between her palms, driving her blurry eyes to her step sister whose words were familiar in her nightmare.

"W-what did you say?" Katrina asks weakly, one would think she was drunk as she waved unstably.

"I said 'Bitch!" Katrina boldly cursed her again, and Katrina knew she heard her sister curse her in her nightmare.

Angrily, she lifted her hand and slapped Sienna out of anger!

Sienna was astonished, her eyes shockingly goggling at Katrina as she watched her storm out of the house!

Katrina's was chaotic, right now she barely could think as she walks briskly in search of Lucien!

Luckily, Katrina caught sight of Lucien at the pack house and she ran up to him. She wanted to hug him badly, to feel his comfort. However, she took an abrupt halt when she recalled how Lucien was the cause of her death, he betrayed her and all this she had seen in her nightmare!

This made Katrina's fear grow more, she was scared!

Meanwhile, Lucien who saw Katrina running up to him was flustered. He whirled to confront her, he saw how happy she was. But, she seemed to have this look of despair when she reached him.

To his internal instincts; that was strange!

Nevertheless, he slipped the thoughts to the back of his head and asked her "My love, did you finally ask your mother's clan to vote for me?"

Katrina was taken aback! Lucien's words were the same as when he spoke to her in her nightmare!

It's more like she could foresee the next words he was gonna say to her. Oh no! What does all this mean?!!!

Meanwhile, Lucien was already boiling in anger since he noticed that Katrina wasn't even listening to him. He got so furious and he yelled at her.

"Are you even listening to me, huh!"

Katrina was highly startled and as to Lucien's question, she asked him instead "Do you love me? I mean... was your affection for me true?"

Lucien was extremely surprised at her question, he attempted to talk but he coughed on his spit and he swallowed emptily.

Finally, he said bleakly "You are doubting my love for you, aren’t you?" He expressed his disappointment.

Katrina felt badly immediately, she bites her lips as she tries to go closer to him. Although the visions in her nightmare were real and she could tell that he had no love for her in that nightmare —all this was making her go insane!

Lucien smug at Katrina "You are doubting my love for you, huh?!" He bellowed.

"I'm so..." Katrina bites back her apology, and she hangs her head as her eyes dim in despair.

Lucien scoffs and then finally heaves a sigh, he glances around carefully and finally says to Katrina.

"Let's go to your house, I need to see your father and talk things with him!" He firmly said.

Katrina's heart skipped a beat when she found all this familiar in the dream, it was only apparent that her nightmare was all coming true!

Reaching her house, Katrina and Lucien entered the living room and they arrived upon Sienna who stood behind Gina, her mother, and Katrina's stepmother.

Mrs. Gina has an overly furious face while Sienna was sneering at Katrina, and the poor girl knew she was in trouble.

"Why did you slap my daughter, huh?!" Mrs. Gina growls as she strides close to Katrina who is now moving fearfully backward.

"Oh, mother! She slapped me so hard!" Sienna faked a cry to her mother. Then, she moves to Lucien and she shows him her cheek "She slapped me right here!" She wept bitterly.

Lucien glares at Katrina.

"I..." Katrina wanted to make an explanation, but she stopped when she saw her father stepping into the living room after walking downstairs.

"What's going on here?" Her father asked,  and Mrs. Gina blatantly told him how Katrina slapped her daughter.

"How dare you slap your sister, huh? Are you mad or you've lost your nuts?"

Katrina's heart bleeds as her father scolds her, she wasn't even at fault, to begin with!

"Lucien, please come with me!" Katrina watches her father says as he beckons the door. Then he turns to his wife "You can give her the punishment she deserves!"

Hence, the older man walks out of the house and Lucien follows him behind.

"You!" Mrs. Gina growls at Katrina, pulling her ear dangerously and Katrina cries at the excruciating pain "Go and clean the kitchen!"

"Good for her! Serves her right." Sienna laughed in mockery, clapping her hands as she watches her mother pull Katrina's ear.

"Argh!" Katrina felt her heart sting in pain as she hurried to the kitchen, and started to scour the bare flood.

All of sudden, Katrina stopped as she cleans her teary eyes. She shakily stood to her, sniffing in miserably as she hugs her cold self.

‘No, I won't follow the nightmare this time…’ She thought to herself, her eyes peek around before she sneaks out of the kitchen!

Following a narrow route, Katrina suddenly ceased to catch a glimpse of two individuals in the woods and she quickly hid behind a tall tree.

Gradually not to be seen, she somehow saw the bodies clearly and it was Lucien!

He was leaning his face closer to Sienna and he clashes his lips on hers, kissing her aggressively as they both smitten together!

"No!" Katrina gasped sharply and her heart fell.
