LET ME GO

Take me back home

Instead of replying to his question, Maya grabbed him by the neck and kissed him so affectionately which evoked Wolf's feelings that he had been hiding. He couldn't control himself anymore. He felt like doing everything with her body.

It didn't take long before he grasped her around the waist, pulled her beyond close and began to play with her body. This action of his was killing Maya softly.

His ravenous and amorous looks in his icy blue eyes were enough for Maya to speculate his next move -he was going to make love to her.

Yes, it was obvious that she was in love with him as well but to her, that wasn't the right time for that.

She wasn't ready for sex with this man. Moreso she wasn't sure if he liked her or not.

With this doubtful mind she pushed him away with an incensed gaze that got Wolf confused.

"Go away you monster."she roughly barked at him.

Wolf's mind was awoken by the sound of this girl's aggrieved voice.

The same voice that took away all the pleasure he had been feeling a moment ago.

"Damn it! What have I done now!"he cursed himself inwardly.

Looking regretful he apologized but the girl wasn't ready for his apology, instead she said, "Take me back home please."

He was about to yell at her before he noticed her teary eyes.

"I won't take you..... but somebody else would."he said.

"Somebody else... I don't see anyone else here."

"Look there. Do you see that."he was pointing to the sky.

"A star."

"Yes."

"What! What does it have to do with this?"

"It will take you home."that's all he said still with a regretful expression on his face.

Maya was wise enough to understand why he looked that way. Perhaps he wasn't liking what he was about to do

As much as she would like to solace him, all she could do was planting a peck on his cheek and just like that, his pain and regrets were erased.

"Thank you Maya."

"You're welcome sir." She smiled at him as she walked backwards, stepping out of the cave.

"Whisper my name whenever you happen to miss me."he hurled words for her as she walked away.

"I don't think I will ever miss you."she responded without looking back.

Snapping his fingers, Wolf summoned the star from the sky and quickly threw it at Maya. Just like that, she vanished.

Falling to his knees Wolf cried uncontrollably. How could he just let this chance slip out of his fingers. He could've confessed his feelings and perhaps she could've stayed.

"So, is this how you want to avenge my death, by falling in love with this girl? Tell me Alpha please. Do you call this revenge or you're busy finding love and world pleasure?

No love, you can't fall in love with her no matter what happens. And how can you not see that she doesn't love you at all.

I hope you haven't forgotten what you promised me - you said you would never fall for anyone else but me. You're only mine Alpha.

I think you should forget about avenging my death and find a way to bring me back to life. I wanna be with you please.

I overheard your conversation and you know what, I was shocked to hear that you still cherish memories of you and Leia.

You were blinded by those memories that you never realized how much I loved you. I loved you immensely Alpha and nothing has changed even after my death. My spirit still yearns for your love.

Bring me back to life please love.. and in case you fail to find a way, find a reason to die and find me in this crazy world."a familiar voice spoke from behind.

Turning around he didn't see anything but he was sure whose voice it was. "Luna?"he called but received no response.

"Are you in here?"he asked no one but thin air.

"Yes my love, I'm right here."a voice said before a woman's shadow appeared in front of Wolf.

"T-this means Maya wasn't imagining things... she really saw you. I'm sure you did this intentionally, didn't you?"he was shouting at the shadow. - So crazy!

"Yes. What else could I have done when she was slowly driving you crazy. I saw how you wanted to replace me so easily and I couldn't allow that."

"What? Oh my gosh! I wish I knew that she wasn't imagining things."he felt like punishing himself by going in a deep slumber for years.

Without reasoning he got his sleeping pills. He wished he could take overdose so he could stay there for a good time.

"That would be better."Luna's voice echoed through his ears.

It was then when he remembered what he just told Maya. Perhaps he still had a reason to live. He had asked her to whisper his name if she misses him and here, he was going to sleep for years.

He knew she still wanted answers to her questions about her mother and he was the only one who could give her the right ones. Moreover his revenge was incomplete.

"No... I shouldn't do this. I still have a lot of finish."he breathed thoughtfully before he threw all the pills away.

That was enough for Luna to tell that he still wanted to live for Maya. "What a heck! What has she done to him. He can't make his own decisions now!"

Meanwhile when the star reached somewhere very close to Maya's house, it laid her down alongside the road as it was sure that people would recognize her and take her home. It couldn't risk taking her inside their premises. Who knows what Zalvin would think of it.

Luckily enough as Zalvin was returning home after searching as much as he could but couldn't find her, he saw someone laying besides the road.

To his shock, it was really his daughter but she was unconscious. He was surprised to see that her clothes and skin looked untouched.

"I didn't leave anyone here.. who brought her then?"he was asking no one but himself.

Without thinking anything, he picked her up and carried her home.

The next time Maya opened her eyes, she was in her room. Seeing the sunlight coming through the window, she realized it was already morning..

Wandering her gaze around, her eyes met with his father's who had dozed off on the couch in the corner of the room. "Dad!"she called. It was like Zalvin had been waiting for her call because he responded right away. "Maya my child."he quickly embraced her in a tight hug that felt like forever. Maya was so happy to return home though she had no idea what happened after she walked out of that cave. "How did I get here."she would wonder.

"You don't know how worried I was. How are you dear. Are you hurt? Did he hurt you in any way? Did you somehow get to know his name?"he was asking so many questions which made Maya speechless for a moment.

She was wondering what to say to him. She neither wanted to lie to her father nor tell the truth.

"Maya, do you know or still remember the person who kidnapped you?"he repeated with that furious and unsettled look, moving back and forth in the room.

She knew he wouldn't spare that Wolf man if he got to know the truth.

Maybe she had to do something.

Wait! Why was she covering the truth?

"Kidnapped! What are you saying father. What have you done to yourself. I mean you look stressed out. You even haven't gone to work yet."she was pretending.

She had to act like she knew nothing about her kidnapping.

"Why are you acting as if you don't know what happened yesterday."

"What happened "

"Stop playing around with me. Tell me all you know about that person who dared to mess with me, Zalvin Zake."

"I don't know anything father. I d-don't remember anything."she was faking tears. She knew his weakness, he never wanted to see her cry. So, faking tears was like touching him on the right spot.

"Stop crying dear. I'm sorry but try to recall anything that would lead me to that person. I won't rest till I've taught him a lesson."

"Nothing's there to recall father. I've told you the truth. I had no idea that I was even kidnapped. But why would someone kidnap me father."

Was she turning tables for him?

"What are you saying dear. That you don't know anything. Oh my gosh, this can't be happening!"

Zalvin was left torn between believing her and doubting.

How could she let her father's hope down for the sake of that man.

"Do you feel any pain, especially between your legs?",he asked tenderly. Maybe he had finally believed her.

His question sounded strange for Maya. "Does he think he raped me! So awkward!"she breathed before she answered, "no father. I don't feel any pain."she assured though Zalvin didn't look satisfied. Being overprotective, he took her to the nearby hospital for physical examination.

Thank God the results proved that she was still untouched.

It was then when a smile appeared back on his face but the thought of it was still bothering him.

He still wanted to deal with this kidnapper no matter who it was. "Something is fishy. Why would someone take her away and bring her back without harming her. Who's that person that is playing mind games with me."he seemed lost in thoughts.

Clearing her throat intentionally, she interrupted him. "Shall we go back home?" She was reminding him that they were still at the hospital

"Yeah, sure."

On their way home Maya couldn't understand why father was asking her strange questions. He was like, "do you have a boyfriend? Can you manage a family? What if someone comes with a marriage proposal, what would you do?"he would ask.

Maya found herself saying 'NO' to every question her father asked. She wasn't herself anymore. She was taken back to that moment with Wolf. She wished she could fly to him again

"What's wrong with you. Can't you find another answer other than no.

Looking at her seemingly smiley face all of a sudden, Zalvin could tell that she was seeing someone, somewhere though she didn't want to admit.

"Are you sure you aren't seeing anyone?"he was becoming too much.

"Yes Dad. I only need to complete my studies first. Marriage and everything will come later don't you think? I'm just twenty years old remember. How would I handle a family on my own."

Deep down Zalvin was still wishing he could get a clue about who the kidnapper was. He could've found out if he just transformed into a beast and read Maya's mind but no, he didn't want to reveal that secret that he had kept for twenty years now.

Transforming into a beast would arise so many questions of which he wasn't ready to answer.

He was trying very hard not to let her know that Truth about him little did he know she already knew half of it.

Wait! What was that secret he was hiding?

On reaching home, Maya rushed inside to prepare something to eat. She was starving seriously. Zalvin didn't go to work that day, he kept home keeping a close eye on his daughter. He thought the kidnapper would show up again any time.

All went well for the day.

As usual the night came with so many stars . The sky was aglow with bright city lights when Maya looked through the window.

The pale crescent Moon shone like silvery claw in the night sky.

She looked up at the blanket of stars that stretched to infinity.

"Wow! The sky is so amazingly beautiful tonight."she breathed before she was interrupted by the occasional barking of Faraway dogs that broke the silence of the night.

Feeling scared, she immediately closed her window and went straight to bed and just like that she put up a bluff.
