Tami's POV

Once I was ready, we both went out and touched the feet of Mehul uncle, he blessed me with a broad smile and then I touched Megha Aunty's feet. She kissed my forehead and gave me blessings and together they asked me not to do it again as I was just like Mahi to them.

Some guests who were about to leave, bustled us, offering congratulations and well wishes, oblivious to the underlying tension between us. Forced to play the part of the happily married couple, we exchanged polite smiles and small talk and took their teasing, all the while I was acutely aware of the unspoken emotions lingering beneath the surface.

Though we prepared to face the day ahead, the weight of our forced companionship hung heavy in the air, overshadowing any semblance of joy or celebration.
