27. The Difference

The high of heat had finally subsided. Funnily enough, I felt disappointed more than drained. The week had been long and tiresome; the bedroom permeated with the smell of sex and blood and Damian was more often than not giving me a sultry look. Apart from that, when we deemed it fit to get some air, we stayed out of each other’s space. 

It wasn’t the most ideal arrangement, but I had to work with it. In this whole week, I have never seen him throw any deceitful comment on me or insult my kind, and a tiny part of my heart felt grateful for that. I avoided saying anything negative either. However, I was becoming anxious as to what our future would hold.
