“Here he is,” I said when I brought Adeline into the dungeon. I don’t know why, but I decided to keep the rogue she was referring to alive. The rogue, who was sitting on his cell bed with his head down, looked up and smirked after he saw her and me.

“You didn’t do anything to him?” She asked, creasing her forehead and staring back at the rogue.

“As you can see, he’s alive,” I replied, which made her look at me.

“If I had not, you wouldn’t be able to see him and find out what you want to find out.” She rolled her eyes at me again, so I heaved a deep sigh to control my anger. I can’t get mad at her because that will only make her mad at me as well.
