Daniel's point of view:
I can't believe that I've finally found her, even when I wasn't looking for her - she was lacking a piece of my unfinished game. She was always the solution to all of my problems, even when I never thought about her.
I can't notice the fact that she doesn't seem able to recognize or remember who I am - which sort of serves my needs. That also helps me to confirm that she will probably not be able to remember Ethan either.
She was quite young when they left, about eight-nine years old. The reason why she can't remember who we are. I mean, even at her mother's funeral, we kept watching her from afar, but none of us dared to speak to her.
Back then, I didn't care about speaking to her - but since it was Ethan's orders; I was forced to follow.
For sure, you would be asking who's that Emily girl I'm talking about. That's an old story to tell, yet I'm in the mood to talk...
Emily Carter was our neighbors' daughter. Though Ethan and Ethan were the same age, she was five years younger than both of us.
I do remember how Ethen used to react in those times when I've tried to bully her. It was as if I was never his cousin, close friend, family member - not that I've ever been.
Our relation was sort of calling a dog master when you need one of his favors. Still, what I need has nothing to do with his favors. I demand nothing more than what was mine - which is actually everything he got.
Since he was the offspring of grandfather's favorite child, he was giving everything he asked for. Wile me, I have to be his shadow same as father was for him.
Well, I refused to be anyone's shadows, and he's no exception. Though I made my fortune, my name, my reputation away from this my family has made. Still, I can't let such unfairness on my behalf to keep that way.
And I know exactly how I shall do it, especially after meeting that stupid girl, Emily.
Back to the girl, Emily. Though the five years distant between her and Ethen, they used to be so close to each other. Their friendship kept on getting stronger day after day.
Liliana, her mother, used to be a close friend to Ethen's mother Kathleen, which caused both Ethen and Emily to be a bit close to each other. They both used to share a love for music, especially the classic type. She was a very talented girl, which makes it hard for anyone not to notice her.
I still remember that she managed to play the whole 'Beethoven in F Major' since she was just eight years old. Ethen was the quiet opposite of her. Though he used to love music, he was never talented.
Well, not until she decided on helping him. This was the first step in their friendship story that ended up being a one-sided love story.
Her life totally changed when her family loses everything they used to have, and from a wealthy family, they become indebted, which led them to become broke. It was all because of her father, who invested all their money on a project that was meant to be a loss.
The moment the Carters lost their wealth, the knights cut all sorts of connections with them. Leaving them to face their dark future on their own.
Well, not all the knights. There was one that kept on watching Emily from far. He was always with her as she grew - day after day. Until one day, she went missing.
When Ethen was eighteen, he decided not to care anymore for his family's orders. He decided to take his chance and go after his childhood best friend. He founded her as he was planning; she wasn't rich as she was. It was clear to him that she was having so much hard time adapting to the new life she has, the reason why he decided on taking care of her personally.
He kept on watching her from afar, not daring to show her his face after that his family turned their back on hers by the time they needed them. He was exactly her knight in shiny armor. He fixed almost all the problems she was facing back then, without her having awareness.
You might ask me what sort of problem a young girl might face at such an age.
Well, my answer would be - many. She was facing more than what a young girl could endure at her age. There was that time when Ethen had to teach a bunch of bullies a real lesson, since they used to bully her, using her mother's illness as a tool to break her. After that her family lost the fortune, her mother lost her last sight of sanity.
At that exact time, she was thirteen years old, one year away from her mother's death. Few weeks after her mother's death, Emily left her home. The relationship between her and her father started getting worse after the death of her mother, the reason why she probably decided to escape.
Ethen spent his entire days searching for her until he gave up. She was gone without leaving any clue to follow her by. No phone to track, no credit card to track either, since she never had any of these tools, not even a goodbye letter. Who would've thought that she was always that nearby?
From the way she was looking, I believe that her life didn't get any better after she left. On the other hand, I still can't wait till I see the look on his face when he'll meet her again.
You might be wondering how did I know all of this, well, it is one of the rare qualities of being a shadow...
Emily's point of view:It was already a whole month, I can't totally recognize myself. The way I talk, walk, speak, dress up, and even eat - isn't the same anymore. It's kind of reminds me of who I was in a while - in a long time while. It's a life that I hate to think about since I believe it's not going to be back ever again. All I know now is that I have no one but myself, and if I want to survive, I need to be a fighter.Today actually I was a day off from Violette's lessons, so I decided to spend the day only at home. Not that I've had any other choice. I don't have friends, and I never had one. When we moved from I used to actually think that someone was my friend when I was young. The truth is that he never was. I've tried to reach him several times when I was young, but his family never agreed to let me in - they quietly believe that I'm not at their level. The thing that hurt me the most was that all these years, and he never trie
Emily's point of view:After the rain, there is a rainbow...Well, the rain that rained on my life brought nothing but a storm. A storm that destroyed everything I used to have. By running away, I thought that I was safe from this storm. Not until a drop from that followed me to where I was hiding. Daniel, the kid in the picture is the same Daniel Kight in front of my sight. He wasn't looking the same as what I do remember. Of course, when I left he was a boy - now he's a man.I gather all sorts of power I'm having, then I stand to face the devil that standing before of my sight before I pushed him away." What do you want?" I asked him while looking deep into his eyes, and he simply says without breaking his eye contact with me." I'm here as an old friend, to help you..." I didn't wait for him to finish what he was saying before I snapped at him." You and friend are to words that I can't accept u
Emily's point of view:The present timePreviously from the first chapter." I don't care about what she has done or was about to do, all I care about is what you're here for." After he was done speaking, I only nod my head, not beating to add anything else since I know that everything I would say would only get him mad." The interview would mean nothing. I've already arranged for you to be accepted. All you have to do is to make sure not to get kicked out. This would be our last and only interaction together in here. Make sure you don't get yourself into trouble..."This was all he says before the elevator's door was opened.............I followed to where he was going until we reached one office, then wi
Emily's point of view:When I reached home, and I got to say - my home sweet home. The first I've done was to take a cold shower to refresh my body. The water running out of the shower landing on my body did not less than to help me relax, as it gave me that sort of being alive after a sort of exhausting day.The day was a bit intense, seeing the way I was treated by Daniel, but everything eventually ended up in a fine way since I got the job without even trying - and the most important thing is that I did it without causing any trouble.I actually was informed that I would get it easily, especially that Daniel convinced the previous P.A to leave as he provided her with a better job. I don't what could be the better job that could've beat being part of " La source de beauté". Anyway, it's her loss. The thing is that I had to keep at the job as longest as I could be which is a bit hard. First, because I don't know how's going to be
Emily's point of view: Well, my act to gather myself ended up being a failure as he seemed to notice that I was checking him. I tried my best to understand what he was talking about as I focused on the last sentence he started. " ... so I decided to say hello!" Then he extended his hand, showing me a pie dish. " What's this?" I asked him and he started laughing. " As I said before, I saw you early this morning going out - and I learn that you're my new neighbor. My name is Patrick, and I live right next to you, that exact door." He pointed with his head to the door. "I was just thinking to say Hy, and I brought thin with me." I didn't know what to say or to do. I mean, should I just say thanks and move on by closing my door, or that would be rude? I shall probably invite him to drink something. But if I did, Daniel would get mad at me. Well, he would get mad only if he knows that it won't happen. " It's such a lovely gesture from you, Patrick! My name is Emily, and I'm pleased
Emily's point of view:I was setting on the floor with crossed legs while trying to cover my ears using my hands only. I kept that way from about ten minutes until he was over. I stood up hard on my as the silence consumed.Well, not for too long since he decided to finally speak." Just put in mind that I still could destroy you the same way I created you." This was all he said before he left.As I was alone, I started crying on none stop. How did I even end up loving such a hateful man? The same question started playing inside of my mind, not giving me even one mommet of rest. The answer is simple; he wasn't always such a cruel man. There were those times where he showed me kin
Ethen's point of view:The sound of the alarm ringing passes through my ears, informing me that another day has just started. It is funny how the sound was the only thing left to remind me that life goes on, which was something I forgot about the day I lost her.I've lost her I was too weak to be the man I had to be back then, and fight for her. I was too weak to stand against them all and to never let her feel that she's week. I was too weak to have her back when she needed me the most by her side. The moment she left, leaving no trace behind her, I felt that part of my soul was gone with her. I've tried hard to search for her, but I never succeeded in finding her. She was gone - once and for all.I buried myself in my work land trying to
Emily's point of view:I've spent hours in the archives room thinking about what happened today. I can't believe that I've just met Ethen. He changed a lot compared to what I do remember about him. He was just a kid when I last saw him, and now he is a man. You know, the type of men you only see on tv.His black raven hair gives him that vibe of a celebrity. He is indeed a celebrity. His blue ocean eyes look like some expensive jowls designed to fit his very handsome face, the bridge of his nose was created to link his eyes with his perfect lips.Everything about him was heavenly made, even his voice. His voice was able to send shivers down my body, lost in my thoughts as I was when Jenny decided to speak." Already whipped?""Hah?" I sort of knowing what she was meaning. Still, I didn't know what I shall say to her." You should consider yourself lucky! Mr.Night hates when people approached him eve in a nice way, so how about th
