It had been a whole week since Marco had left following our argument. I didn't really feel lonely without him, but I couldn't quite grasp why he had walked out. What worried me most was the possibility of him causing harm to my brothers as a way of getting back at me.

Over the past week, I have grown quite close to the staff here, even Dad. It had been a challenge coaxing him out of his shell, but once he opened up, it became apparent that his personality rivaled that of a brick.

Amalia was coming over to pick me up for the charity event and I found myself before Amy's clothes once more.

The thought of stepping into her shoes, both metaphorically and literally, filled me with dread.

Opting for a light blue gown, I was pleased with how it hugged my figure and its ideal length. After applying makeup and styling my hair, I hesitated when it came to selecting matching heels, noticing the painful scabs on my feet.
