I immediately woke up as soon as we entered the pack’s borders. The guards at the gate greeted Vincenzo and Giovanni with respect but once their eyes landed on me, they had a frown on their faces.

“Do we have a new member, Beta Giovanni?” one of the guards asks without taking his eyes off me.

“She is one of Alpha Damon’s guests. Don’t go around and tell everyone about the guest; you know how the Alpha gets when people interfere with his business,” Giovanni ordered the guards who bow their heads, and I assume they understand what will happen to them once they tell someone about me.

I feel a strange pang in my chest once I hear those words: “Looks like our mate doesn’t want people or shall I say his pack members, to know who I am.” I told my wolf, feeling sad that even my mate is embarrassed by me.

“Don’t worry about it; let's see what kind of place they got going here,” she replied but I can hear the disappointment in her voice.
