As we were driving back to the base, I saw lightning flash. Yep, a storm was definitely happening. Then came the thunder. I jumped. Damnit. Why am I scared of loud booms? I can handle guns, no problem, but thunder, freaks me out. Same with fireworks. They scare the hell out of me. Ever since I was little. The rain started pouring down as we were on the interstate heading towards base. We weren’t far from base. 30 minutes, tops, with no traffic. The sky got darker, and I was trying to not freak out from the thunder. Katie pulled up to base, and showed her ID, and my ID to the security guards on duty. The nodded and we proceeded onto base. I felt bad, they had to be out in the storm.

She pulled up to the lodge, and under the awning by the main doors into the lobby, and parked. Waving goodbye to her, I jumped out of the truck, at the same moment a loud roar of thunder happened. I squeaked and ran into the lobby. I am sure Katie was laughing because she knew I hated thunder
