Seraphina POV
Alarms blared throughout the office and the surrounding buildings. I shifted into my black as the night-colored wolf and let Alya take control.‘Where are you?!” My father’s booming voice came into my head. ‘Leaving Julien’s office now, need to get women and children into the chambers.’ The chambers were a cluster of underground tunnels that led to panic rooms in the event of an attack. Something terrible had to have happened if we hadn’t gotten a warning before we were already under attack.‘Make sure you stay with them!’ My father ordered.‘You know I won’t do that Dad.’I blocked out his response as a mangy wolf started to run toward a mother and her two young children. I jumped and shifted into my black wolf form. The tearing of fabric echoed in my ears as all my limbs shifted into fur-covered legs.I wrapped my mouth around the opposing wolf's neck to reach it before it could reach its target. The crack of bone was the telltale sign that I had successfully eliminated my target.I dropped the wolf from my mouth and looked at the mother holding her two crying children. I nodded to the door that would lead them to safety.“Thank you Sera,” The mother said shakily. I gave her a quick nod again before running towards the sounds of howls. I ran through a small wooded area before reaching a cliff’s edge. I needed to see from a higher vantage point, how royally fucked we were.I internally cursed when I saw the blood bath of my pack land below. A mix of rogue wolves, accompanied by Nordic Pack wolves were decimating our warriors.‘Tell me you are safe Seraphina,” Came the last voice I thought I’d hear.‘I am, dad.’‘Get to the chambers.’ He ordered. What was up with the closest men telling me what to do? I was one of the best fighters and the Alpha’s daughter. I wouldn’t back down when my pack was under attack.‘Focus on yourself and stay alive!’ I retorted before shutting him out of my head.‘Men,’ Both Alya and I said at the same time. After surveying the area, I returned to the closest entryways to the safety chambers.I winced and tried to hold back my cry of agony when I felt the tethers to pack members break. I knew something awful had happened when I felt my father’s tether waver.‘DAD!’ I yelled through the mind link.I was met with radio silence. Once I knew the women and children were secure, I ran back to the cliff I overlooked before to see where my father was. The ground below was littered with limbs, blood, mud, and the injured. As soon as I located him I let out a growl that echoed through the valley below and the sky above. My father was shifted back into his human form and in the fetal position as four protected all around him.A growl sounded from behind me, putting Alya and me on alert. As I turned around, I noticed five tri-colored wolves with matted fur slowly stalking toward me.A panicked scream echoed in the forest. When I looked up a young woman holding a baby bundled in a light blue blanket, stood in terror at the sight of me killing the enemy. ‘Allister! Send some warriors to the Eastern border. There’s a woman here with a baby.’ I didn’t recognize the woman which alarmed me even more considering I knew everyone in the pack.‘Get out of the there Seraphina!’‘Send warriors now, Allister!’ The faint sound of howls in the distance let me know that help was on the way. ‘I have to get these rogues away from them.’ I took in my wooded surroundings as I calculated a plan. The woman stood frozen in place with the bundle in her arms. I slowly made my way in between the enemy wolves and the woman with the child. The rogues followed my movements with calculating eyes. I briefly wondered how these rogues came to be what they were. Rogues tended to lose their sanity the longer they were without a pack. It was unusual to see them working together in a fight.I lowered my front side closer to the ground to prepare myself for the fight coming my way. I growled and bared my teeth to the wolves stalking towards me.I lunged at the closest tri-colored wolf and wrapped my jaw around it’s fragile neck. The taste of blood and rot coated my tongue, made me gag. When I looked up from the corpse I noticed the woman and baby were gone. I felt relief for a split second, before the realization that help was not on its way and I was getting cornered.‘Allister! Please tell me you sent help!’Radio silence.‘Allister!’ I tried several more times to get Allister to respond but was met with zero results. I tried to calm my racing heart. However as the wolves drew closer, I knew my demise was near.I was surrounded with nowhere to go. The most mangy of the rogues prepared to lunge at me when a booming voice yelled, “THAT’S ENOUGH!” When I looked up I couldn’t believe my eyes. What was HE doing here?Seraphina's POVA tall broad-shouldered man with shoulder-length brown hair and piercing blue eyes. I would recognize those cerulean blue eyes anywhere. Alpha Callan Forte of the Night Walker Pack stood over a pile of dead rogues, and next to him was Alpha Constantine of the Nordic Pack. Alpha Constantine’s signature short curly hair and fair skin covered in freckles would make him recognizable anywhere. Both men were ungodly ripped with muscles and chiseled abdominal muscles. The rogues that had been about to attack me retreated into the wooded canopy behide the Alphas.“Well, look what we have here,” Constantine teased. Are you lost, little wolf?” He continued. I hated being called that. I knew my wolf was a little smaller than theirs, but due to my alpha genes, I was still larger than the other wolves in the pack. They seemed buddy-buddy for two people who should be enemies. Alpha Callan was known for her dictatorial and authoritarian leadership style. Over the years he had taken
Allister's POVI heard angered voices outside the hospital room where Alpha Samuel lay on the sterile white sheets of a hospital bed. He looked at me with a concerned expression. Samuel had seen much better days in his sixty-three years. His usual warm, tan complexion was ashen and gray. The doctors were still waiting on some tests to come back to hopefully have more of an understanding as to why he wasn’t healing. “You can’t go back there!” I heard one of the warriors say. “I have something that your Alpha will want.” The sound of a familiar voice said in return. The statement piqued my interest. The sounds of small grunts echoed in the hospital hallway. When I walked out of the room, I saw Seraphina with a thin hospital gown on and held in each arm by two burly men. I gulped when I saw the angered expression on Alpha Constantine’s face. He was not someone you wanted to piss off and for some reason he was. Seraphina let out a cry when one of the men restraining her jerked her arm
Callan's POVBEFORE THE ATTACK ON THE SHADOW PACKWhen I met with Alpha Constantine, one of my allies, I was not expecting to see a weasel speaking to him. I didn’t need to know what the man was saying to be able to tell he was scum. “I have someone inside the operation. Someone no one would expect.” The weasel said. I cleared my throat to announce my arrival. Alpha Constantine reminded me of a werewolf lumberjack with his broad frame, red beard, and short strawberry-blonde hair. A big smile crossed his face when he saw me enter the room before engulfing me in a brotherly hug. “Callan! You are early,” Constantine remarked as he slapped my back. He moved me to arm's length. “But just in time,” I looked at him with a curious expression. I had a feeling whatever he was going to say would have to do with the weasel in the room. “Please, gentlemen, let us have a seat. Allister, this is Alpha Callan. Callan, this is Allister, the Beta of the Shadow Pack.” I begrudgingly shook the man’s cl
Seraphina's POV-Present The slap echoed in the room. Allister looked at me with rage prominent in his eyes. “How dare you slap me, you dumb bitch!” Allister’s face began to morph into one of his wolf. His eyes began to glow a deep red while his canines elongated. My anger immediately turns to fear as I see Allister’s claw-sharpened hand rear back. Awaiting the blow, I squeezed my eyes closed. A grunt and the sound of a scuffle sounded in the quiet room. When the blow didn’t hit, I opened my eyes to find Alpha Callan pinning Allister to the floor while Lyla cowered in the corner of the room. Callan shoved Allister away. “You do NOT lay one fucking finger on her!” He bellowed, making goosebumps appear on my skin. Why was he still here? Yes, the Alphas were meeting tomorrow after my father had some rest, but why was he HERE in the packhouse?I backed away from the men until my backside met the hutch that stood on the far wall. Callan looked at me, his eyes still wild and of his wolf.
Callan's POVI knocked on the door twice before waiting for permission to enter. I felt Archer stir beneath my skin to remind me he would be ready for anything that may threaten us. It was quite ballsy of me to come here without any back up. Even Constantine wasn’t aware of my visit. After receiving permission, I slowly opened the door and was surprised to find Seraphina with her father. ‘Of course she’s here, you dumb ass. Her father was severly injured,’ Archer reminded me. I internally rolled my eyes at my wolf. ‘Thanks for the obvious.’ “Alpha Callan, to what do I owe for this surprising visit?” Seraphina stood next to her father’s bed, looking at me with fear. I didn’t blame her. I was with Constantine yesterday when he attacked. His usual tan skin was ashen. Deep claw marks bled through the bandage on his arm. Why wasn’t he healing? This was very unsual for an Alpha. We tended to heal faster than the average werewolf. Why did I have a feeling that the weasel had something t
Allister's POVI tossed and turned all night as I replayed the events that transpired with Seraphina and Alpha Callan. Who did this mother fucker think he was? Coming to our home and putting his hands on me and making demands. I also replayed how I felt after Seraphina signed her name on our divorce decree. I rubbed my chest where my heart ached. Why it was aching was beyond me. I began to think about when Samuel asked if I would marry his daughter as a chosen mate. Seraphina was gorgeous with her raven colored hair and rare indigo colored eyes. I had agreed as this would make my power in the pack that much stronger. What I didn’t expect was to find my fated mate in a rogue. Lyla. I was taken out of my thoughts when I felt a soft hand glide down my chest to the waist band of my black boxer briefs. I let out a soft groan as Lyla’s hand cupped me inside my briefs before taking it out of its confines. Slowly she stroked from base to tip before I felt her warm mouth wrap around the h
Seraphina's POVA throbbing dull pain richachetted through my head. I pressed a hand to my scull as I attempted to sit up. A wave of nausea hit me, making me lay back down. I groaned at my discomfort. While keeping my eyes closed, I moved my hand against the surface I was laying on. I found that I was laying on a plush surface. Slowly opening my eyes, I noticed that I was in one of the guest rooms on my father’s wing of the packhouse. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a figure. To my surprise Alpha Callan stood leaning against the bookshelf while typing away on his phone. Sitting in a chair adjacent from me, was Allister with his head in his hands. I let out a curse as I tried to move. Allister leaped up from his seat and was at my side in supernatural speed. “Oh, thank the Goddess you are awake.” He tried to link his fingers through mine. I let out a growl and moved my hand away from him. Anger flashed in his eyes before it was replaced with indifference. Why was he even here? Why p
Allister's POVI stormed out of the guest room where Seraphina was and nearly banged into Chrissy, Seraphina’s best friend. Little did Seraphina know, Chrissy was my little spy. Chrissy’s eyes widened in fear when she saw me and tried to turn around. But I was faster and grabbed her arm. “Oh no you don’t,” I gritted out before leading her to an empty guest room. Chrissy fought against my hold. I knew my grip was too tight, but I didn’t care. I let go of her arm before I wrapped my fingers around her throat and pressed her body against the closed door. “Care to explain to me why you didn’t convince Seraphina to stop this divorce nonsense?” My voice was filled with venom as rage seemed to consume me. “Because you’re a cheating asshole,” her voice was just as venomous as mine.I ran my nose over her cheek. “You didn’t seem to mind about my infidelity when I had my cock buried in your cunt while you came.” Her breath hitched at my vulgar words. “Care to share with me when you were goi
