Ryan hadn't been heard from in over two months. The babies were growing faster than expected, and I was already showing a lot.

"Laura, we need to get ready for the Councils' ball tonight," Scott said as I took the silk lavender maternity gown from the rack. I put it on, loving that it wasn't your typical dress; the low back and fabric that stopped at my knees made me look like a sexy mother.
