Chapter 4 Money Benefits.

_Meghan

"Where's my money?" I demanded. Before we went any further off the rails, I needed that cheque in my hands.

Neon looked at me and shrugged.

"About that. Now that your outfits are sorted. I will write out a cheque for tonight and an advance for two weeks. Thereafter you will be paid every fortnightly."

"Why am I getting an advance, are you afraid I won't show?"

"I thought you might want to sort out your living arrangements."

"Yes. I do." Me and my big mouth again.

He took out his checkbook and started writing.

"Who should I write out the cheque to?" He asked while paging through his checkbook. Giving me enough time to notice his long slim hands.

"Meghan, Meghan Adams."

He started writing and my suspicions about him dwindled a bit. Until I realized this man was messing with me. How hard could it be to write one cheque?

He took his sweet time. Going over each letter like he was drawing them.

He was messing with me, and he knew it.

After what felt like an eternity, he tore the cheque out and I almost snatched it from his fingers. The money was good. So good I wanted to jump and hug him but no, I'm a professional. I wanted to thank him for his kindness but instead, something else came out.

"Thank you, I hope it doesn't bounce."

He looked at me amused and gave a little laugh. "I can assure you, Pretty one, it won't bounce."

"Now what?"

"Tonight I thought we could just get to know each other. How long have you worked at the club, it was my first time seeing you yesterday." his intense gaze on me. Could I ever get used to his eyes?

"Yesterday was my first day. I worked at a different club before then."

"Dancing?" he took a seat on the bed and I followed him. Nice long legs and muscular thighs.

"Yes, Dancing, I've been dancing since I left high school."

"Why did you leave the other club, not paying you well."I laughed at the question. How did you tell someone that you just met less than twenty-four hours that you were running from a crazy ex?

"Just felt like a change. When you are at the Penthouse. Who stays at the house?" I was getting uncomfortable with the subject of my job.

"Simon and the security guys. The servants keep this place running." A perfect gentleman.

"Do you have any servants at the penthouse?" It felt like an interview.

"No. Just the cleaning lady who comes in twice a week to check on things, I can manage on my own, the place is not that big."

He cleared his throat and looked serious.

"I was serious last night when I said I needed to help me with clients but more so for my own company, as a companion."

"Don't you have friends for that?"

"Not really. You will be compensated for your time like you are in the nightclub, only I prefer you clothed."

"Friends with benefits?"

"It's called Money benefits." I wasn't buying what he was selling.

"And what would we be talking about during that time?"

"Anything. You, me."

"If you prefer being alone. Why do you have a house when you could have just stayed with the penthouse."

His face fell but he pulled himself together fast.

"Would you like some dessert? I have a sweet tooth." He changed the subject.

We left the room and walked to the sitting area. Like a fine-tuned machine, Simon appeared with a tray of desserts.

"Meghan. I'm sure you hear this all the time, but I feel like I've known you forever."

"Me too. But I'm not moving in with you Neon." He looked disappointed but he was going to look even more disappointed when he realized that I wasn't into his games.

With dinner finally done. Neon gave me a tour of the house.

The house was beautiful, but when we came back to the sitting area. I took my purse.

"Thank you for the lovely meal but I would like to go and change now."

"Do you need help with the zip? I'm afraid Madam G and her assistant have left, it's only me and Simon who can do the job."

I looked around. Not Simon.

"Ok. Fine then."

"For a moment there I thought you were going to pick Simon over me."

We climbed the stairs. He had his hand on my back. An intimate gesture.

We entered the same room with the dresses. The only difference was, there were no dresses. They all had been moved and only the dress left was the one I was wearing earlier.

"They all neatly hung in the closet." He must have seen the confused look on my face.

"Okay."

"Now turn around and let's get you out of this gown."

I heard him blowing hot air into his hand and rubbing them against each other.

He unzipped the gown slowly. I felt his breath on my neck. When the zip was down he let out a calming breath. He must have had a glimpse of my barely there lingerie.

I stepped out of the expensive gown and walked to the bed where my dress was. No time for modesty. The guy had seen me in a thong before.

After wearing my dress I stood in front of him. "I would like to go home now."

"Is there someone else, if that's the reason you won't move on? I will understand."

"There is no one, as lovely as all this is, I'm afraid Neon I can't accept your offer. I need to be on my own for now. But I would love to work for you."

"Ok. Half a loaf is better than none, right?"

"I'm not a loaf."

He laughed out loud and I just watched, enjoying the sound.

"That, you not. You know what I mean."

The drive back was easy. We talked about everything but nothing in particular.

Neon told me about some of the exotic places he'd been to. And I told him about places I would like to go to.

"I'd like to take you somewhere beautiful one day."

"Someday," I said dreamily, knowing fully well that someday will never come.

"Neon, what do you do for a living?"

"I'm the Ceo of Petrov Ltd."

"You're that Petrov?"

"I'm the only Petrov I know in London, there is not a lot of us." he chuckled.

"I've seen the building in town." Now I felt stupid. I've been throwing tantrums all evening at the CEO of Petrov Ltd.

"You sell guns." I blurted out.

"Yes and all the other dangerous stuff you shouldn't know about. You don't strike me as a customer."

"I'm not. But I have a cousin who knows all about your products. So are you rich?"

"I'm okay. I can afford more than most people, so to answer your question, just a little." He was rich and out of my league. Good, because rich people only wanted other rich people.

"Then what were you doing at the club?"

"I go there after work to unwind with a glass or two before heading home plus I enjoy the entertainment." or scout for unsuspecting victims I thought to myself.

"I just thought, with that amount of money, you would like places that are more sophisticated and-"

"Stuffy." He cut in.

"Yes, something like that." We both laughed after that.

The car stopped next to the entrance.

"Should I take you to your door?"

"No, thanks but I would like to know one thing, how did you know my dress size?"

"I saw you naked remember?"

"I wasn't naked." color rose from my neck and I opened the car door. "See you tomorrow Neon."

I felt stupid asking that. He had an answer for everything.

Neon Petrov was a lot of things but he was not a sore loser. Any other guy would have been sulking after being rejected but the ride home had been pleasant.

I let myself into the dark apartment, sure that Alicia and the girls were still at work.

"Explain." I jumped when the lights came on, only to find someone sitting on my couch with a murderous look on their face.
