Temporary Fix
Thoughts of Clyde and Jenny possessed my mind during the first half of the drive to South Bend. I couldn't shut out the thoughts, at one point I banged the sides of the car in frustration.
"What's up, darling?" Chris asking, reducing the driving speed and holding my hand.
"I just hate the way everything is happening," I said. "My heart feels tired."

Sadly, Chris left when we got to my room. He did not even stay for a minute. He said he had something urgent to do and would call me when done. Later that evening as I lay on my bed, I made up my mind. I was going to be with Chris and there was no turning back. It was time for me to get into a stable relationship again and with Clyde that wasn't going to happen any time soon. Being with Chris was safe and good for everyone. No words can describe how lonely I felt after everyone I cared about had gone.
