I accompanied him to the door with James's help and saw Daniel follow my father out of there. I waved and they waved back until they disappeared into the woods.

"I always suspected you were too similar at times." Alex said when James and I walked back into the room. William agreed. That was hard to believe actually.

"Okay..." I said and looked at Amelia. "The friend he told you about, where is he? Okay?"

"Liphe is here. Completely passed out in the other room. He almost died." She walked over.

"Oh." I stayed upright and sucked in a breath.

The wolf reached out to her and pulled her close to him. It was obvious that the two of them had slept together that night before she snuck out. But they were not yet intertwined. I squinted down the hall and considered going back to bed. My body was still heavy and I wanted to stay by Stanley's side until he woke up.
