11. The Healing

Arkael had Muriel bathe me, then he had Maven take care of my slashed arm. I didn't even flinch, I was numbed, I was done. My wolf was finally done.

I released a deep breath when I reached Ranulf's side and my wolf snuggled in closer to him. I was lying beside him in silence, which feels like the longest time. My mind was finally at peace, until...

There was a little twitch, I could barely feel it. But his body definitely moved.

"You smells nice my little wolf." Ranulf said with his raspy voice, but then he fell quiet as he drifted back to sleep.

My wolf let out a low whining noise, and nuzzled himself closer to the king. Slowly the white streaks on his wings changed to a darker shade of grey color.
