The Untrue

"Give me back my phone and laptop, Axe." I wasn't begging him. My tone of voice sounded rude of course. What he took from me were my assets. I had the right to ask for them even if he didn't want them back.

"What for?" Axe closed his laptop a little loudly. He gave me a sharp look before finally packing up his things. I'm surprised at him, it's a holiday, Axe shouldn't be busy with his work right now.

"I'm bored," I reply quietly. I don't want to look into his eyes which continue to pierce me.

"A half-truth is worse than a complete lie. You obviously know that, baby girl." Axe rose from his seat. His towering body seemed to remind me that I was no match for him.

"You want to escape, don't you? Ask someone else for help. I know what's in that pretty brain of yours." Axe gripped my jaw slightly. I could feel the atmosphere changing in his body. He was angry. That's for sure.
