I'm sure Axe recognized my confusion to chuckle impatiently and immediately pulled me around his body. Our positions change with me turning my back to Axe.

I feel a feather-light kiss on my shoulder for a moment, before a white gold necklace with a sapphire gem is perfectly clasped around my neck. What's wrong, why would Axe suddenly give me a necklace full of sparkles in a situation like this.

"It will keep you safe. I don't know where the bracelet I gave you a few weeks ago went. Did you throw it away or eat it?" Axe asked, bringing me back until our bodies were facing each other.
