NARAH'S POV

My heart was pounding in my chest, and my breath came in shallow bursts. I wondered how this empty room had become a forest. The nowhere zone felt more like the “not making sense” zone.

Whatever it was, it was making my skin crawl and it pricked every damn nerve. Gosh! It wasn't a good feeling.

“When you learn the truth, find me and defeat me. Then you can get your wolf back,” the voice echoed, its words fading into the distance like a haunting memory.

“What truth am I supposed to…”

Before I could finish my statement, the door slammed shut behind me. The room was plunged into complete darkness. I couldn’t see a thing any longer. Not even my own hand when I waved it in front of my face.

“Please, wait, come back,” I screamed, spinning toward the door, but realising it had vanished.

Then, without warning, the lights flickered back on. But this wasn’t the soft glow of overhead bulbs. It was the natural light of the morning sun, pouring through the canopy of trees that now surr

NARAH'S POV As I stood by the edge of the woods, the wind blowing through my hair, I sighed deeply. How was I supposed to know where the girls went? I was literally in the middle of nowhere. Now, the name “nowhere zone” was beginning to make sense. Suddenly, my ears picked up the rustling of leaves behind me, and I quickly turned. A man was standing right behind me, barely three feet away. Darkness shrouded his face, making me shift back in fear. Was he staring at me? I wondered. But then I noticed that he wasn't. He couldn't even see me. He was young, handsome in a way that made him seem both dangerous and alluring. His short black hair framed a sharp face, but it was the way he looked at the empty space in front of him, where the portal had been—those deep brown eyes—that told me everything I needed to know. He was a werewolf. I could feel the wolf beneath him, restless and watching, waiting for something. Wait! Had he been hiding in the trees, watching Jenna and Ophelia

NARAH'S POV “What do you mean by that?” Hendrix asked, his voice calm but edged with something darker.“Only silver wolves can use the Moon Jade. I thought everyone knew that?”“Everyone? That's in the old times,” Hendrix sneered, his gaze hardening as he leaned closer to Ophelia. His fingers dug into her arms, a subtle but firm grip that made my stomach turn. “Isn’t your mate supposed to have access to the Jade? Isn’t the Jade supposed to make me powerful enough to wipe out an entire city?”His eyes turned completely dark as he spoke. His voice became awfully sinister, sending nothing but dread through me. Looking at Ophelia, the terror in her eyes and the quivering of her lips and the way her body flinched beneath his touch, I could tell he had that same effect on her.It was terrifying to watch this man who she was to marry inflict physical pain on her, and he wasn't aware that he was hurting her. Did the Moon Jade really have that kind of power, though? To annihilate entire citi

NARAH'S POV How would I tell Ophelia? Was there even a way for me to inform her about Hendrix’s plan? History had already taken place, and there was no way that I could change it. There was no turning back the hands of time. Just as I ran out of the cottage, the weird teleportation thing happened again, and this time, I found myself plunged into darkness. No—my eyes were closed. I just had to open them. When my eyes finally opened, I noticed I was lying on a hard, rough surface—hay, scattered around the floor like a crude mattress. My body ached all over, every muscle screaming in protest. The pain was so intense that I wondered if it was the side effect of being teleported multiple times. The confusion muddied my thoughts, and I tried to push through the agony to sit up. As I struggled to rise, a jolt of pain shot through me, more intense than before, and I collapsed back into the hay. A groan slipped from my lips. What in the world had happened to me? My mind raced as I

NARAH’S POV (Still trapped in Ophelia's body, Ophelia's consciousness overpowered Narah's in this chapter, meaning everything that happened occurred exactly as it did in the past) A sort of hysterical laughter surged up in my throat, and I choked it back. I couldn't believe Hendrix's betrayal. I could taste the bile that had formed at the back of my throat as anger, frustration, and severe despair coursed through my veins. Still, I said nothing, my eyes fixated on Hendrix. He stood tall and proud at the front of the Pack, the rogue Kings behind him. I didn't know what to make of the situation. I just couldn't believe it. “Hendrix, how could you?” Jenna snapped, her brows furrowing. “Shut up, witch!” ordered one of the rogue Kings. “Hendrix has told the truth to all of us. Your atrocity is a disgrace. You are an abomination.” I listened to every word, and they rang like a tolling bell, ripping my heart out. But nothing hurt more than seeing the expression on Hendrix's face.

NARAH’S POVOphelia’s final memories unravelled in my mind, jagged and raw, like shards of glass cutting through my consciousness. I felt everything she had. The coldness of her rage. The weight of her grief. The relentless power that surged through her as she slaughtered the entire Pack in the woods. The rogue Kings fell before her, their blood staining the earth as they crumpled in the dirt. Hendrix was last. She had saved him for last.I could feel the moment she tore his throat open with her claws—her eyes deathly cold and unwavering as his life’s blood gushed out, and the earth drank to its own satisfaction. It was a massacre, brutal and swift. She was unstoppable. The power of the silver wolf coursing through her veins made her a force no one could withstand. But what haunted me the most was how she didn’t hesitate. She didn’t flinch as she watched Hendrix’s body slump to the ground, his blood mixing with the dirt.Ophelia’s heart was a fractured thing, but she didn’t show it. A

ALPHA VAN’S POV“I don’t believe Gina should be allowed to roam around freely the way she is.”I raised an eyebrow, the corner of my mouth twitching into a half-smile. “I’m pretty sure she isn’t helping much by being detained either. She insisted she didn’t help Anakiyus escape.”Not that I entirely believed Gina, but she seemed sincere. “Liars be sincere until they're caught,” Curtis chimed in, his voice a low growl at the back of my mind. “All evidence proves guilty. Guards wouldn't lie.”I dismissed his voice in my head. Briefly, I glanced at Jeremiah, feeling the familiar tension between us, but he only gave me a deadpan expression. "Besides, she's not allowed to leave the estate. So, her roaming is limited," I added, trying to push the conversation to lighter ground.Jeremiah chuckled, but it was a hollow sound. A short, fanciful laugh that made my skin crawl. “The Luna is under house arrest,” he said with an exaggerated sigh. “How will the Alpha live!”I shot him a dry look. “W

ALPHA VAN’S POV “I... I came because I—" She hesitated, clearly trying to find the right words again. Then Liam cut her short. “I invited her for my wedding tomorrow. I want her to be a part of it.” Mother nodded several times. “He's right...and I want to make it right to you, Liam, and Kacy. Especially you, Van.” The bitterness surged in me again. Make it right? Was this some pathetic excuse to ease her guilt after all these years? It was too late for that. I blamed Liam for inviting her without letting me know first. He definitely wouldn't have informed me because he knew how much I hated her, to the extent that I had prohibited anyone from talking about her. “As you can see, we're all doing just fine without you,” I said through clenched teeth. “You think a couple of tears and a half-assed apology is gonna make up for abandoning me? For abandoning us?” Liam, still oblivious to the tension in the room, stepped forward with his usual excitement. “Van, it’s Mom! You—” “No!” I

NARAH’S POVThe water ran hot, steam curling around me as I stood under the shower, letting the heat flow into my skin, washing away the remnants of the night before.Just as I tried to relax, I heard Liora’s voice scream, “Are you still going to wear that beautiful wedding dress?”I couldn't hear her properly, so I turned off the shower. “WHAT?”“The wedding dress!” she shouted. “Are you still going to put it on? Ellie is calling.”How did I forget about that? “Sure, I will. For dramatic effect,” I screamed back.“That's my girl,” Liora said, and a smile tugged at the edges of my lips.I turned on the shower again and let it all flow—my anger, my confusion, the stench or alcohol, the memories of Hendrix, Ophelia and Jenna, and the mounting pressure of everything I had just uncovered. It was all too much, yet not enough. The truth was a cruel thing, especially when you couldn’t unlearn it.But as the water ran cold, something else was there. NARAH’S POV“Don't let his words get to you, Narah.”I didn't know what was happening to my body. I gritted my teeth, trying to contain the emotions swirling inside me. Was it truly Beta Bernard's words that provoked me, or the death of Anakiyus and Nas?It felt as if an eerie flow of energy was coursing through my veins, fuelling my rage. It was a feeling I had never felt before. My muscles jolted, and my breathing hitched as my eyes shone like sunlight. Beta Bernard stopped in front of me, his expression shifting to horror. The only sound in the room was my steady breaths, echoing, amplifying the tension growing between us.The silence in my head… it shouldn't be silent, I thought. “You have just awakened your witch side,” Minsi said, her voice trailing off.Impulsively, I yanked the cuffs from my wrists. The chains shattered. Beta Bernard's eyes bulged out, as though they were about to pop. Before he could react, I stretched my hand outward, my fingers curling around his neck an

NARAH'S POV I batted my eyes until they opened to take in the view around me. The pain that had subdued my body earlier had completely disappeared, replaced by a sharper affliction around my neck and wrists.Silver cuffs clutched my neck, their metal links bound to a cage behind me, while the cuffs on my wrists were tied to the stone walls on each side. The metal was cold against my skin, biting and digging into my supple flesh.I had a limit to how far I could move. As discomforting as it was, I sensed dark magic flowing through the metals and dissipating into the cuffs. What's going on? I thought inwardly, panic creeping in on me like a haunted ghost. “It's cursed silver,” Minsi's voice cooed. Why wasn't she freaking out? We were literally shackled in a dingy room, and yet she spoke like someone enjoying a day on the beach, sipping margaritas or something. I recalled Ophelia being fettered by cursed silver. The pain I was currently experiencing was similar to the one I had felt

GINA'S POVConfusion gnawed at their faces. Liam and Miss Kiara still hadn't gotten over the shock of my revelation, and now I was sauntering toward the door, asking them to follow me. They stood frozen, unable to process what was happening.I turned to them. “Corolla is about to burn down the estate,” I hollered. “She's my sister, and our father is Beta Bernard.”“Oh, nice way to dumb the info on them,” Ria said sarcastically. I shook my head, acknowledging her point. Perhaps I could have said it in a better way.“What?” Chris gasped.“Gina, what are you talking about?” Liam asked. An anxious laugh escaped Miss Kiara's lips, echoing in the stillness of the room. “She's insane, as they said.”“I'm not insane,” I retorted. “My father and Corolla are the ones who actually enchanted Alpha Van after they made me poison Reina so I could take her place.”“But why?” Chris asked.“Ever heard of a gemstone called the Moon Jade?”Miss Kiara's face was blank, but Liam's and Chris's eyes widened,

GINA'S POVI stepped out of the bathroom, completely naked, water dripping onto the worn carpet. I tied up my hair in a white towel and my bare body with a plush, pink towel that lay on the bed.On top of the drawer across the room, I grabbed my pack of cigarettes and slipped one out. Lighting it, I sat down, took a long draw and watched the plumes dance in the air until they disappeared. Then I took a deep breath and exhaled.“Oh f**k this! Feels good,” I mumbled, relief washing over me.It felt good to have a long, hot shower. I already had that prison stench imbued in my pores. Now it was all washed away down the drain. Ria thought it was best to stay in the tub, but I just needed to stand, and drench myself from head to toe, that's why I opted for the shower.“I've never felt so alive,” she said happily.“I know right?” “Why did your father pick this old motel for you to stay in?”I propped myself up in my seat and looked around. (Note: This chapter is a prequel to the last. The events occured before Narah left for the Moonlight Pack to look for Liora and before the Packhouse exploded) LIORA'S POV When the guard, Corolla, and her father left to see Anakiyus, I tried to free myself, but still couldn't get it done. It was as if each time I tried, I could feel my strength leaving me, with the cuffs and chains absorbing my power. This wasn't part of the plan. Getting caught was surely never part of our plan. How would we survive this? After waiting for a few minutes, Beta Bernard and two guards returned, along with Anakiyus. Where's Nas? I wondered. Anakiyus walked majestically in between the guards. It almost seemed as if he weren't a prisoner. A stoic expression clouded his face until he saw me. As his gleaming eyes caught mine, he offered a reassuring smile, and then it dawned on me that Anakiyus had not been caught; he had freely given himself up for me. I wriggled constantly, the metal links scr

NARAH'S POV Without saying a word, the guards led Bryan and me into the Alpha's house. As soon as we stepped inside, memories flooded my mind—how Gina and I used to run around, playing and screaming at the top of our lungs. “Wait here,” one of the guards commanded. “Let me call Luna Tauriel.’ As he went upstairs, I couldn’t help but move around the house, my heart swelling. Everything was almost exactly the same. From the thick, yellow curtains to the wall where Gina and I had measured our heights over the years. The guard returned and left with the one who had stayed behind. Then Bryan suddenly asked, “How did you know impersonating the Alpha's long-dead daughter would get us in?” “I wasn’t impersonating,” I replied, scanning the living room. Bryan's face contorted. Just as he was about to speak, Luna Luna Tauriel's sharp voice pierced through the atmosphere as she descended the stairway in a precise fashion, her gaze fixated intently on me. “Look who we have here. • Broken trust: Luna's awakening    CHAPTER 118: Beyond the Lunar bond

ALPHA VAN'S POVThe night of my lunar bonding ceremony with Reina was supposed to be one of the most joyous days of my life. I had anticipated the night with her, standing side by side, chanting our vows, and binding our hearts into one. We were fated mates, and I was glad she would come to know it when she saw me, but things took a turn for the worse. A witch enchanted me; I rejected Reina, and she died.I still found it hard to believe she's back. Narah was Reina. From the day I met her in the cafe, I knew she reminded me of Reina, but wouldn't it be sickening if I told someone that Reina, who had died a long time ago, was standing in front of me, alive and well?No wonder my wolf, Curtis, called her “mate.” He could even sense the mate bond between Narah and me more than I did. However, the enchantment we were under suppressed and clouded his mind, just like it did to mine.My father once read a book about reincarnation to me as a kid. He told me about his great grand-father, Mica

LIORA'S POV Memories of my capture in Luna Tauriel's room were hazy. The dog's frantic barking had ceased. It was then wagging and chasing its tail, running in circles. I was battered so quickly, and the next thing I saw was gross darkness. A few minutes after that, I felt my body floating, then I realized I was being carried away by a man. While descending the stairs, my eyes struggled to open. As they slightly parted, trying to observe the environment, I noticed Luna Tauriel and the man from her room standing at the top of the stairs. I didn't know his name or remember it even if I'd heard of it, but I recognized his face. That unmistakable resting bitch face. He had that same expression when he attacked me in the room as soon as he saw me. A guard was now carrying me on his shoulders, taking me to a place I didn't know, and I couldn't resist. I was too weak to do anything or even speak. Gina's wicked mother watched in awe as I struggled in vain. Suddenly, a familiar sce

NARAH'S POV My gaze lingered on Alpha Van as I spoke with Chris across Alpha Van's room.“I have to go to the Moonlight Pack, there's something wrong; I can feel it,” I said, worried.“I know, it's weird for Liora not to have her cellphone all day or contact us. She uses that thing like she breathes,” Chris remarked.I shot him a glance, a smile tugging at the edges of my lips despite the tension brewing inside me. He was right. Liora was addicted to that device.“I can't let anything hurt her, Chris. I don't want anything to harm her.”I meant every word I said. I hoped Liora was safe with Anakiyus and Nas.Chris nodded, his expression resolute. “I'll take care of Van, I promise,” he assured me. “He'll be awake soon. The poison had been in him for so long, I'm surprised he's even still alive. A normal person or any other werewolf wouldn't have been able to break free from that enchantment and would have died instantly from the strong poison.”My eyes drifted back to Alpha Van, my he
