Chapter eight

Luke arrived at the house well past midnight. His afternoon encounter with Ruby had made him go spiral, causing him to hastily retreat out of the mansion away from the witch. He was eager to distance himself from her presence. Exhausted, Luke needed to clear his mind, so he turned to work as his best distraction.

"Mommy? Si Ruby?" He clarified, shocked by what he had heard.

"Yes, po sir. Si Mam Ruby po. Siya din po nagpakain kay Zoie kanina sa hapunan" she added to her story.

"Si Ruby?" He repeated the same question, the information not quite registering in his mind.
