CH 8: You Warm My Heart

The garden beside grandpa’s mansion was not enormous, but it was exquisite and looked calming. In the middle of the garden, there was a pond of colorful fish. I sat near to the pond while occasionally observing the entrance to the garden, after which I returned to observing the behavior of the fish that swim freely in the water with no obstacles.

After Samuel left and I finished my dinner, I said goodbye to Grandpa, Mom and everyone in the hall. None of them answered in a friendly manner. Mom just nodded without looking at me. Her attitude was cold and indifferent, unlike when Samuel was with me. While grandfather, his attitude remained cold as before. But at least the rest of the family smiled and said goodnight to me. Maybe they didn’t want to see me there. To them, I was a stranger who wasn’t on their level and wasn’t in their prestigious circle of friends.
