Backfire

My mind is still wired with that stupid memory. It was a slap in the face when he just passed by. I let something happen to us. And I'm here regretting everything about it. I brushed my hair with my fingers after the training for the younger wolves finished.

I stood up from my seat and headed to my room. Good thing Amara already left me alone, or she will still talk about last night nonstop.

I really shouldn't be tangled with Lane. It should be the last thing I'm doing. And now look, I can't stop thinking about how he just ignored me. I bit my lip and slumped onto my bed.

"You're here to kill him, Sette," I reminded myself.
