Alpha Lucas's POV.

I sat in the throne room as I listened to the council members speak about the activities of the Dragon king in the North.

"The audacity of that man to purchase a land that was supposedly ours". Samad, my most trusted advisor, and best friend spoke up in anger.

"When I advised his majesty to quickly acquire the land, he refused to listen, now the land has been taken from us". Jules, the oldest among the council members said.

Samad abruptly turned his head towards him. "How dare you speak to the king in that manner"?

And they continued to banter while I just sat there watching them. Both Samad, and Jules were wise in their own ways, and knew how to give good advice so I honestly couldn't pick sides.

I cleared my throat, but that didn't stop them. Stubborn men! "Enough" I thundered.

One thing about the council members was that I gave them the freedom to speak how they liked in council meetings. It made relating, and sharing opinions very easy.
