“What happened?”

I asked again when Bernardo didn’t answer the first time. He looked like he was holding back and trying to control his rage. I didn’t know if he was angry at me or someone else. Hell, I wanted our mating bond to be complete already so that I could easily know whatever goes on in his head too. I realized it would be much easier for us to know each other if we could read each other’s thoughts. No lies or half-truths.

“Your Majesty?”

I called. He let out a sigh.

“We need your help again,”

He finally said in a defeated tone. He looked like he didn’t want me to help again. not because my helping was getting in his way but because he was actually concerned for me. at least that’s how I saw it.

“Did something happen? Was there another attack?”

I asked. Already ready to go help out even though I was still tired from healing those men.

“There wasn’t another attack. One of the women that were taken was found and she is in a really bad shape right now,”

He revealed.
