Chapter Seventeen

Hours had passed since I had been sitting right in front of his bed. I had been given assurance that he would wake up in no time. It’s already past 9pm and there’s no sign of him jilting out of this unconsciousness that’s almost taking like eternity to end. I was still dressed in my hospital gown even though I was much stronger than I had been in the past few days. This incident wasn’t totally anybody’s fault. I sat there watching and waiting for him to wake up. I said a little prayer in my mind as I held his hand in mine. Suddenly he twitched his finger. I was glad to see that he moved. He adjusted his shoulder a bit while I waited for him to open his eyes. It took like eternity for him to even open his eyes. When he finally did, I sprang up from my sitting position.

"Alexander". I called him

Helena” he responded.

"Alexander you’re awake, thank goodness". I said and cupped my mouth in my palm as an expression of surprise and excitement.

"What happened? What am I doing here?" he asked
